A huge misconception non-technical folks have is that engineers & CEOs vibe coding is the same thing. Literally could not be more different. A CEO vibe coding is trying to one-shot an internal version of Asana from scratch. An engineer vibe coding is an elaborate orchestration of sub-agents that are carefully navigated through studying, planning, executing, testing, hardening, and improving.

VCs now realizing Silicon Valley has a public image problem and suggesting we increase PR efforts and participation in politics to make clear that Silicon Valley problems are every American's problems… A better (and easier) starting point might simply be investing in more underrepresented founders that live outside of SV and NYC. At the very least, we won't have to all retweet the same female founder in Ohio next time.

Austin Police killed Raj Moonesinghe (co-founder, inKind) while he was defending his own home from intruders. There's been crime in South Austin so he bought a gun. His co-founder said: "A brown man with a big gun doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt" 😢 techcrunch.com/2022/12/22/fa…

The best career hack I know is this: Reverse interview your future manager and another 1-2 people after you get an offer. This technique beats almost *every* career advice I know. Yet so few people use it - speaking as a hiring manager. Here’s how (and why) to do it:

I'm sorry, but breakpoints are just easier in Java. There is a reason people reach for console.log in JS all the time. It's not as easy to set up and use. In Java land, you have to do all the setup so it "just works".

If you are hiring - hire mothers ASAP. Do not ask “well what have you been doing?” because they have been keeping the country afloat during this year, that’s what they’ve been doing. Just hire them.
