Thailand has kept Uyghurs in inhumane detention for years and then complied with Beijing’s demands to send them to China, where they were forcibly disappeared. Now, two Uyghurs are at imminent risk. Thai authorities should halt returning them to harm’s way.hrw.org/news/2026/11/04/thai…

We invoked a @UN procedure and appealed to the 15 UN mandate-holders to immediately issue an urgent statement to prevent the deportation of the remaining #Uyghurs in Thailand, as their deportation would lead to torture, imprisonment, and even death.
Today, SLP's @RayhanAsat sent an urgent appeal to the UN concerning the fate of two Uyghur men detained in Thailand who face deportation to China.
The SLP strongly requested that Mandate Holders issue an expedited statement demanding that Thailand halt plans for extradition.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE TESTIMONY: A Former Xinjiang Prisoner Says Uyghur Detention Camps Are Still Operating — and Reveals What He Witnessed Behind Bars.
A Han Chinese man who served two years in a Xinjiang prison for criticizing the Chinese Communist Party has escaped to Germany, where he is seeking political asylum.
Mr. Wang says Beijing's campaign of repression and forced assimilation against Uyghurs is far from over.
According to his account:
🔹 Detention camps are still operating. Wang says large numbers of Uyghurs remain confined in so-called "vocational education and training centers," where they are forced to learn Mandarin Chinese and undergo political indoctrination. Some have reportedly spent three or four years there. Those who pass political screening may be released, while others are transferred into the prison system.
🔹 About 90% of the roughly 6,000 inmates in his prison were Uyghurs, Wang claims. Many were serving sentences of more than 10 years.
🔹 Speaking Uyghur could bring punishment. Wang says Uyghur prisoners had to request permission before speaking their native language. Those who violated the rules risked beatings or electric shocks from high-voltage batons.
🔹 Even talking in their sleep could trigger interrogation. According to Wang, guards documented prisoners' words and behavior. Anyone who cried out during a nightmare could be awakened and ordered to explain themselves. Their explanations were then recorded.
Wang himself was sentenced to two years in prison for "picking quarrels and provoking trouble," a vaguely defined offense frequently used by Chinese authorities against critics and dissidents.
Court documents below, provided with the account, show that prosecutors accused him of posting comments in 10 WeChat groups criticizing China's COVID-19 restrictions, ethnic policies, Taiwan policy, and national leaders.
He was released on October 3, 2024. But according to Wang, his imprisonment effectively continued outside prison walls.
He says police and domestic security officers repeatedly summoned, monitored, and threatened him. They warned him not to disclose what he had witnessed in Xinjiang's detention facilities and prisons.
When he left home, officers demanded his location. His family was also subjected to intimidation.
Unable to endure the constant surveillance and fear, Wang eventually fled China. He left on September 10 and recently reached Germany, where he applied for asylum.
He now hopes to speak publicly about what he witnessed and urges the international community not to forget the Uyghurs.
The accompanying images show Wang's Chinese court judgment and prison release certificate.
If his account is accurate, it raises an urgent question:
How many Uyghurs remain detained today, years after Beijing claimed its vocational training program had ended?

Thank you, @aliciakearns, for raising these urgent issues. The UK Government must recognise China’s transnational repression and take action to protect British citizens whose families are being targeted back home. I would welcome the opportunity to meet you. #Uyghurs
I have serious concerns about China's new "Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress", which seeks to extend the CCP's control over ethnic minorities and critics beyond its border.
I’ve written to Ministers demanding assurances that the law cannot be enforced in the UK, and that the Chinese Embassy is warned transnational repression will not be tolerated.
No one in Britain should live in fear because of who they are or what they believe.

International soccer star @KMbappe should not apologize for calling Mao Zedong a dictator. Mao was a dictator, and by orders of magnitude, he did more harm to the Chinese people than a comment from a soccer player ever could. Mao was the leader of the CCP for decades and his dictatorship and disastrous policies killed tens of millions of Chinese people in the Cultural Revolution, the Great Famine, and other atrocities. Involved in the Party from its first national meeting in 1921, Mao is the principal historical figure for a Party that continues his practices of oppression and ideological purges. For decades, the CCP has denied the Chinese people basic human rights including freedom of expression and freedom of religion. These are rights enjoyed by Mbappe and millions of people around the world and Mbappe should exercise this opportunity to tell the horrific truth about Mao’s dictatorship.
The real disgrace in this news story is the companies rushing to apologize so they can continue to do business in China. The CCP is the largest oppressor of the Chinese people and their human rights, and those businesses that work with the CCP help normalize its crushing brutality. reuters.com/business/media-t…

Seyfettin’in ÇKP iktidarına biat ederek Doğu Türkistan’ı adeta tepside sunması, onun öteki olmaktan kurtulmasına yetmez. Çünkü Mao, Seyfettin’in kökenini ve gerçek kimliğini unutmaz; onu kendi safına çekse bile ona hiçbir zaman bütünüyle güvenmez.
Siz Guangdong’a gideceksiniz.

Every time I post about the Uyghur genocide and my family's forced separation, not knowing if they're safe for nearly a decade-my comments get flooded with Chinese CCP propaganda. These censorship and distraction tactics must be exposed!
Post about Xinjiang, Uyghurs, or the CCP and watch what happens. Within minutes, the replies fill with canned talking points, awkward praise of China's economy, and insults aimed at you. 🧵
This isn't an accident. Meta called Spamouflage, Beijing's covert influence network, the largest known cross-platform operation of its kind and purged thousands of accounts in one sweep. Prosecutors and Meta have tied it to Chinese police. Twitter once removed over 2,000 accounts that existed to whitewash Xinjiang.
A regime accused of mass detention of Uyghurs spends its resources not on answering the charges, but on drowning out the people who raise them.
The goal isn't to win the argument. It's to bury real information under noise so readers shrug and say "it's complicated."
It isn't. A government that needs fake accounts to defend its record is telling you something.
Keep posting. 🌐

Shocking: Anthropic reveals that Uyghur Post has been targeted by China's mass campaign against Uyghurs; and report mentioned Uyghur Post three times;
It says "In parallel, the actor planned a campaign of coordinated mass reporting, foreign front delegitimization, and bot network amplification against journalists from the Uyghur diaspora, notably those working for the Uyghur Post."

We're publishing our most detailed threat intelligence report to date.
It covers how people tried to misuse Claude—for cyberattacks, influence operations, surveillance, biology, and building weapons—and how we found and stopped them.
We disrupted every operation in the report, and used the lessons from them to strengthen our safeguards. Where appropriate, we also shared what we found with authorities and other AI companies.
These cases are not typical: we’re highlighting some of the most sophisticated misuse we’ve seen. But they’re especially important to discuss, because they show us where AI misuse is headed, where our safeguards work, and where they need to improve.
We’re publishing this report so others can spot the same activity on their own platforms, and so we can give the public a clearer view of how emerging threats develop.
