This is crazy, a jailbroken PS5 can now play original PS2 game discs directly, without needing to copy the games to digital files first. Modders have found a way to use the PS5’s disc drive to read original PS2 DVDs and run the games through an emulator. But they’re not stopping there. Modders are also working on getting original PS3 discs to work on the PS5 So Sony could have made this possible years ago, but they never did, they preferred to keep charging users for useless remakes.

It’s fucking wild how fast the Internet has joined forces to screw PlayStation after the disc announcement >PS5 emulators are making real progress, with games like Demon’s Souls reaching gameplay. >KytyPS5 is getting more PS5 games running in-game. >AnyPS5 is trying to translate PS5 games so they can run natively on PC. >Almost all PS5 can be jailbroken >Jailbroken PS5s are being used for emulators, homebrew and game mods. >modders are increasingly experimenting with getting PS5 games and software running outside the console. And this just started
