A blockchain’s security matters, but so does how quickly it can adapt when things change. One thing that caught my attention with @Starknet is exactly this. Starknet has relied on Ethereum as part of its security model. But when you depend on another network you don’t have full control over the timing of certain important upgrades. That’s what makes starknet exploring its own L1 worth watching. I wouldn’t see this as abandoning Ethereum no transition has been finalized, and the idea is still being explored but considering the potential risks quantum computers could pose to cryptography in the future having more control over security upgrades could be a real advantage. Of course having its own L1 alone doesn’t make Starknet quantum resistant The cryptographic methods it uses will matter just as much as the infrastructure itself. To me the important thing is being prepared rather than caught off guard when new risks emerge. That’s also why starkware’s Quantum Hub is worth keeping an eye on post quantum security might seem like a distant concern today, but blockchain projects need to start thinking about it now.
