FLUX 3 is the strongest world model in the world.
FLUX 3 is #1 on Physics-IQ, @GoogleDeepMind's benchmark for physical world understanding in video models. How Physics-IQ works: given the start of a real filmed experiment, can a model predict what physically happens next? Tests span fluid dynamics, optics, solid mechanics, magnetism and thermodynamics, covering how liquids flow, light behaves and objects interact. In most cases, we substantially outperform all other frontier models, Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, Veo 3.1 and Sora 2, Cosmos3. The FLUX 3 base model outperforms all other foundation models, while FLUX 3 paired with a physics verification layer scores even higher. The FLUX 3 backbone, with its strong physics understanding, gives FLUX 3 Action it’s strong action prediction for robotics, while also giving FLUX 3 Video physically accurate motion when you’re creating content, making ads, films and product shots.

Introducing FLUX 3 Action. An open weights 7B World Action Model that achieves first place on the RoboLab benchmark. It outperforms the previous best open model by 6.1 percentage points while using 56% fewer parameters and running up to 3.95x faster. FLUX 3 Action removes the usual trade-off between world action model performance and VLA speed: it still predicts video and actions together, but plans more than twice as far ahead and runs faster per second of robot motion than the strongest open VLA. Teams can fine-tune FLUX 3 Action on their own demonstrations to create policies for a particular robot and task. Together with @nvidia, we also integrated FLUX 3 Action natively into @huggingface's LeRobot, with fine-tuning recipes included and edge deployment on NVIDIA Jetson. Beyond robotics, we’re also seeing promising results training task-specific policies for acting in simulated environments like gaming, controlling a vehicle, computer use, and wherever else a model needs to understand a visual environment and then choose what to do next. FLUX 3 Action builds on the same image, video, and audio pretraining as FLUX 3, but uses a smaller architecture designed for practical deployment. In midtraining, we trained the model to predict actions and future frames together. We’re releasing the weights, code, fine-tuning recipe, benchmarks, and reproducible examples so researchers and developers can build on the model with their own robots, environments, and tasks (see below).

For over a decade, we’ve accepted that end-to-end backprop is the only way to train deep networks. But holding the entire network in memory all at once is why AI training is hitting a resource wall. We found a new way to break the network into blocks and train them independently. The trick? Treating the network’s forward pass like a diffusion model denoising a signal. This reinterpretation slashes the memory needed to train deep models. In our #ICLR2026 paper (arxiv.org/abs/2506.14202), we matched end-to-end performance across ViTs, DiTs, and LLMs. We did this while training just one isolated block at a time.
Introducing DiffusionBlocks: Block-wise Neural Network Training via Diffusion Interpretation pub.sakana.ai/diffusionblock… What if we didn’t have to hold an entire neural network in memory to train it? Standard neural net training optimizes all parameters jointly. As a result, the memory required during training grows linearly with the depth of the network. In our #ICLR2026 paper, we propose DiffusionBlocks, a principled framework to train networks one block at a time, drastically reducing memory requirements while matching end-to-end performance. With DiffusionBlocks, we split the network into blocks and train them one at a time, so you only need memory for a single block. How? We explicitly assign each block a role: to move the representation a little closer to the target than the block before it did. That role turns out to be precisely what a diffusion model does, step by step. Each block only needs to optimize its own objective and can be trained independently. We validated this across five different architectures: • ViT • DiT • Masked diffusion • Autoregressive transformers • Recurrent-depth transformers In each case, performance is competitive with end-to-end training while using a fraction of the memory. This perspective also extends naturally to recurrent-depth (Looped) transformers, which apply the same network iteratively and normally require expensive backpropagation through time (BPTT). Viewed through DiffusionBlocks, we can replace those multiple iterations with a single forward pass during training. Read our paper and code, to learn more. We present a research preview of Self-Flow: a scalable approach for training multi-modal generative models. Multi-modal generation requires end-to-end learning across modalities: image, video, audio, text - without being limited by external models for representation learning. Self-Flow addresses this with self-supervised flow matching that scales efficiently across modalities. Results: • Up to 2.8x faster convergence across modalities. • Improved temporal consistency in video • Sharper text rendering and typography This is foundational research for our path towards multimodal visual intelligence.
