While we discuss payment why don't we discuss work scope too. You will see an intern advert but the requirements are that of a senior developer and yet stipend will be attached as the payment. Interns are not meant to be use for cheap labour.

The Explosion In Ibadan, the little I know so far.
On my show on @freshfmibadan this evening, I interviewed my senior colleagues who went to the site of explosion and the Special Adviser to Gov. Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, retired CP Fatai Owoseni. Here are the little updates so far
1. No one could authoritatively say what the nature of the explosion is
2. The impact is felt at about 500m radius
3. The explosion happened around Dejo Oyelese Close, Off Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija
4. There's no need for anyone to go there to see what's happening. Security operatives are there and rescue workers. It's good that they should have clear access to rescue people as some may be buried under rubbles
5. Oyo State governor has instructed hospitals to admit anyone that's brought in from the explosion site and start attending to them immediately
6. All residents in the affected areas are advised to leave their house this evening, just in case of secondary explosion.
7. All hotels are to allow people who come in from the explosion site and around it. The state government will settle them.

For Tech newbies who’d wanna get a Role soonest !!!
YOU NEED TO START PUTTING YOURSELF OUT FROM DAY 1, right from when you wrote your first code or did your first design, put it out, let folks know Watchu doing, doesn’t have to be anything practical at first.
You can never tell who watches and could recommend you for a role, in some cases, I’ve had to recommend lads up here just because I saw what they shared and tried panning them up with other tech lads who needed an intern.
I remember a product design lad up here last year who started out; shared his first tweet on how he got into tech, the same lad constantly shared whatever he worked on here so frequently almost everyone noticed him , months down the line , this lad got recommended for a role from another tech lad up here cos he often put himself out.
Another case study was a front end lad who was already a little good, often recreated web pages of different firms, there’s one he recreated for Konga that got him some attention and boom , someone recommended him for an internship.
Long story short , While you prioritize learning intensively , also ensure to prioritize creating several SM accounts to share your journey, I’d always recommend LinkedIn and twitter specifically cos of its heavy Tech personnels’ presence.
While you also share your journey on these platforms. Create a portfolio to log your projects into so once an opportunity suffixes you can get to share a domain to share all you’ve worked on.
Again, be intentional about working on project-based learning and once you do work on projects , share them.
Can’t wait to see you get a role and win .
