for my new followers, i wanted to let you all know whats going on with me and why art is so important. I have a very rare eye condition called axenfeld-rieger syndrome that caused Glaucoma. axenfeld-rieger syndrome is very rare and only 1 in 200,000 people have it!

i know i said going blind wasnt bad, i was wrong. well kind of, going blind isnt hard but being blind completely blows.

ok yall, im blind now. im using a screen reader to read whats going on. its annoying but i can at the very least use my computer now. the screen reader im using is called NVDA it stands for non visual desktop access. i cant afford JAWS. so this will work for now!. im learning and adapting. i told you @rareperkins i dont quit! i meant it

I've been thinking a lot about accessibility in Web3 for blind people. As someone's vision declines and they begin relying on screen readers like JAWS, how accessible is Web3 actually going to be? Wallet connections, signing transactions, verifying addresses and permissions, navigating NFT marketplaces, reading traits and metadata, interacting with dApps... these are all things that need to work well with screen readers for someone to participate independently and safely. I'd genuinely love to hear from platforms like @opensea @SuperRare @MetaMask @coinbase about what accessibility currently looks like and what's being worked on. Web3 has always been about giving more people access. I think accessibility for blind users is an important part of that conversation.

Next time I go to the eye doctor, I'm going to ask for a copy of all my eye exam records, hopefully as a PDF or something similar. Then I'm going to use that data with AI to generate images based on what I actually see. The goal is to let you experience the world through my eyes. I'll also share information about my eye condition and the results from my exams (nothing private) so you can better understand what I'm living with every day. I think this could be a really special way to help people see what vision loss actually looks like instead of just trying to imagine it.

its kinda strange that quite a few platforms know me and my condition. yet none of them have asked for even my input on ease of use as a guy thats going blind. well, SR did ask me about their site, i cant say all. and they infact did implement dark mode not long after that (going to say im the cause of that lol) if any platforms want to use what im going through to improve their user experience even simply just to be usable by blind / visually impaired people..... id be more than willing to help where i can! looking directly at you @MetaMask lol also exchanges, @coinbase seems okay honestly. @cryptocom though and ive said this multiple times, i simply cant use. theres others im sure. we all cry about being independent, we shout about ownership, meanwhile were leaving a massive community behind and since its MY community, i feel its only right that i be the one to speak up about it! EVERYONE CAN BE BETTER! put it like thius, if your platform is usable by blind people, sighted people more than likely would have an even better experience.
