There's a guy on tiktok doing musical parodies with the Muppets. But he always changes the lyrics to add frog puns. It drives me crazy. If Kermit the Frog was playing Jean Valjean, he wouldn't be adding random puns about how he is a frog. He's an actor and a professional

In film studies, our prof once went on a rant abt how we have to "de-americanize" our view of art.
iirc "Americans are obsessed with plot. Form, function, feeling, they ignore it all to ask if the plot is believable or logical. All they care about is outsmarting the artist."

People who say Lanterns was a Surf Dracula misunderstand that a Surf Dracula is about what is promised vs. what is delivered, not one’s personal wishlist for an adaptation.
Lanterns never promised anything other than what it was (and it delivered what it promised excellently).
