How do you design a self-driving car for the unexpected?
At Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League’s (@A2RLeague) first multi-car autonomous race in Europe, five driverless cars raced 12 laps at Imola on identical hardware, so software decided the result. Team Kinetiz from the UAE took the win.
The most revealing moment came mid-race, when a technical issue slowed one car, which couldn’t be avoided by the following car. Such rare, unpredictable situations are hard to recreate in simulation, which is why autonomous racing matters. Behind every car, engineers still set the safety boundaries and decide how hard to test them.

كيف تستعد السيارات ذاتية القيادة للتحديات المفاجئة؟
نظّم دوري أبوظبي للسباقات المستقلة والمسيّرة أول سباق متعدد السيارات ذاتية القيادة بالكامل في أوروبا، على حلبة إيمولا في إيطاليا، حيث تنافست خمس سيارات ذاتية القيادة على مدار 12 لفة، وكانت البرمجيات العامل الحاسم في تحديد الفائز، ليحقّق فريق "كينيتز" الإماراتي الفوز في أول سباق دولي للدوري.
وتكشف الحلبة عن تحديات لا تستطيع المحاكاة الافتراضية إعادة تصوّرها بالكامل، وهو ما ظهر في منتصف السباق حين تسبّب خلل تقني في إبطاء إحدى السيارات، فلم تتمكّن السيارة التي خلفها من تفاديها. وتبرز مثل هذه المواقف أهمية سباقات السيارات ذاتية القيادة، باعتبارها بيئة واقعية لاختبار الأنظمة وتطويرها. ولكن رغم تطوّر هذه التقنيات، يظلّ المهندسون مسؤولين عن تحديد ضوابط السلامة والإشراف على حدود الاختبارات.

أعلن راشد مطر المناعي، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة "لود أوتونومس"، اعتزام الشركة تنفيذ أول رحلة اختبار لطائرة مسيرة ذاتية الحركة في عملية مدنية بين دولتين على مستوى العالم،
وكشف المناعي عن تلقي الشركة أكثر من 330 طلبا لطائرات "هيلي" من شركات محلية وعالمية، حيث تتجاوز حصة الطلبات الخارجية 70% منها، مؤكداً أن هذا الإقبال يعكس الثقة العالمية في دولة الإمارات ومنظومة التصنيع المتقدمة التي يجري تطويرها.
وذكر أن فريق عمل الشركة يضم أكثر من 100 موظف، يشكل خريجو الجامعات الإماراتية 30% منهم، حيث يسهمون بصورة فعلية وفاعلة في كافة مراحل تطوير الطائرة.
