"Flood Opposite" As the video below shows, Coach Underwood talks about the importance of flooding the opposite side on the offensive glass. @SynergySST New Player Tracking backs it up: Illinois ranks No. 1 in the country at recovering its own missed 3s and sends 4 players to the glass more than any other team.
🏀 Illinois head coach Brad Underwood explains his why he changed his rebounding philosophy, their simple rebounding rules, and how these changes helped Illinois become the No. 1 team nationally in recovering missed threes.

I really enjoyed hearing Bucks' coach Johnny Carpenter talk about spacing and decision making with Chris. Got me thinking, so I ran some queries and made this chart to describe the value of some of the options a player has when catching a kickout after a teammate drives.
Milwaukee Bucks head of player development Johnny Carpenter explains how CLA, offensive principles, advantage creation, decision-making and so much more, creates better player development than scripted repetitions. basketballimmersion.com/the-…

We're adding pick pair leaders in our new college player tracking tools. Mostly interesting from the perspective of "what's working for us?" and "what do we need to be prepared for?". But I think there's also some useful information for draft (or transfer) work.

27.2 Picks per game vs. 53.8 Here’s something we haven’t really been able to measure before: You ICE a ball screen. The coverage works. The offense gets out of the action and flows into something else No shot. No turnover. Nothing traditionally gets credited to that Pick But the Pick happened & the defense won the action With @SynergySST New Player Tracking, we can now capture those Indirect Events. Arizona shows 27.2 Direct Pick events/game. Include every tracked Pick action and that number becomes 53.8 per game. Nearly double the picture of what’s actually happening. This is where Player Tracking starts changing how we evaluate the game.

"It’s very clear to me that for there to be more analytic developments, playing tracking needs to be involved. Analytics people need new inputs, and that can only really come from player tracking" - @EricFawcett_ Anyways apropos of nothing..... have I mentioned @SynergySST has NEW Player Tracking data (60 of the most forward thinking, elite basketball minds AGREE & have already upgraded)
Why haven't there been recent analytical breakthroughs in basketball? I weighed in on the great analytics discussion, why there hasn't been any major recent developments, and what it's going to take to see more groundbreaking innovations in the space. Link in the first reply👇

From a Coaching view, one of the cool new parts of @SynergySST new Player Tracking, is all the new actionable data on the SHOTS tab: - Stationary vs Moving (Left/Right) - Self Created Dribble Jumper - Paint Touch Before Shot / No Paint Touch - 3FGA Closeout Defender Position (To Shooter's Left/Right/Behind) - Wide Open / Open / Contested / Tightly Contested - Dribble Jumper Pressure
