Pre-COP is elevating Pacific voices and climate leadership on the road to COP31
Climate change isn't a future challenge for the Pacific. It's a daily reality.
And here in Tuvalu the stakes are higher than any other part of the world.
Working side by side with our Pacific neighbours, Australia is stepping up to play our part.
Finding local solutions to global challenges. Driving the clean energy transition. Bringing the world’s attention to our region.
Because the Pacific’s future is our future - and we’ll support our neighbours every step of the way.

Today, Australia ratified the High Seas Biodiversity Treaty, an important step towards protecting our shared ocean.
We are working with partners to safeguard our marine environment because what happens on the high seas affects our environment, economy and way of life.

Climate change is the Pacific’s greatest threat. But clean energy is one of its biggest opportunities.
That’s why Australia has brought clean energy to schools, healthcare centres and communities right across the Pacific.
This massive solar and battery project will provide 25% of the power Palau needs.
Because Australia is stronger when the Pacific can power its own future.

On the margins of this week’s Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting, Palau and Vanuatu deposited their instruments of ratification for the Pacific Resilience Facility Treaty. Fourteen Pacific Islands Forum Members have now ratified the PRF Treaty.
These ratifications reflect the region’s shared ownership of the PRF and its commitment to ensuring resilience financing reaches vulnerable communities, marking another important step towards Forum Leaders’ vision for a Pacific-led and Pacific-owned resilience financing institution.
