⚡ Financial infrastructure is still fragmented. One bank for fiat. One platform for digital assets. One provider for compliance. 🔧 Aurea collapses that into a single API layer. White-label. MiCA-compliant. EU-native.

Hong Kong's biggest bank just put a stablecoin inside its own banking app, reaching millions of existing customers who never asked for one. Not a crypto firm chasing users, a systemic bank shipping it by default. Worth watching.

Western Union just moved part of its global transfer network onto stablecoin rails. Worth noting: this is the company that built modern remittance, not a startup chasing a trend. Legacy money movers are placing real bets on crypto infra now.

Just 10 months ago we launched the first EU-native infrastructure for blockchain wallets, built for banks, fintechs and merchants. Today Aurea is the bridge between traditional finance and innovation. Wallets, payments, cards, tokenization and more, under your own brand, through one API. We kept improving, kept expanding and kept building, and the result is a complete platform for the next era of finance. This is what Aurea has become. This is who we have become. A US bank testing stablecoin cross-border transfers, Marqeta and BVNK pushing stablecoin-funded card spend. Three different players, same signal: settlement is moving away from the old wire rails, no fanfare needed. #payments

Citigroup partnering with Coinbase on stablecoin payments. A big US bank running crypto rails for payments, not trading. Stablecoins are turning into plumbing, not just a speculation play. #stablecoins

Visa says stablecoin card payments just posted a big jump. A few years ago banks treated that rail as a side project. Now it shows up as a real growth line for the world's biggest card network. Settlement is moving onto these rails faster than most banks expected.

BMO joining Project Agorá is a signal: a G7 bank testing tokenized settlement for cross-border payments, not a startup pitching it. When incumbents run the pilot on their own rails, that's usually when a shift gets real.

Banks are rebuilding cross-border rails for a real-time world. Correspondent banking wasn't built for this pace, and customers now expect money to move like everything else does: instantly.

Rwanda's biggest bank just joined China's payment network, another sign Africa is moving away from dollar-clearing rails. Cross-border payments are splitting into parallel regional networks. Banks need more than one rail to move money globally now. #payments

The Renaissance started here. So does the next one. Italy's next empire will be built on Solana.

Saudi Arabia is stepping back from mBridge, the multi-central-bank CBDC platform. Getting several countries to share one payment rail sounds simple on paper. In practice, alignment is the hard part, not the tech.

4/5 Pontes is the near-term bridge. A separate project, Appia, is aiming for full 24/7 wholesale settlement by 2028. Two tracks, same goal: getting tokenised markets onto real settlement rails.

5/5 Wholesale settlement is unglamorous but it decides everything. Whether tokenised bonds and repos go mainstream or stay a niche experiment depends on plumbing like this, not the hype around it. #fintech

🇪🇺BREAKING: ECB launches “Digital Euro” for banks as Pontes begins tokenized finance pilot. President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde announces The ECB is launching Pontes today, a platform that will connect private blockchain networks with the TARGET system, allowing banks to settle tokenized assets directly in central bank money. “It's digital euro made available for banks,” the ECB says, allowing institutions to transact using tokenized assets and DLT “faster, without friction," she  adds. Pontes is the first step toward the ECB’s broader Appia ecosystem for tokenized financial markets, while consumer-facing digital euro testing is planned for mid-2027.

ECB just opened merchant applications for the 2027 digital euro pilot. That's a long runway for a payment method meant to feel instant at checkout. The real test isn't the rail itself, it's whether merchants bother integrating it at all.
