Ukraine is being asked to abandon its sovereignty and territorial integrity so that two great powers can more easily help each other overcome the consequences of aggressive wars they should never have started. And yet we’re still debating the “irresponsibility” of smaller powers

Russians are murderers. In broad daylight, in the central park of Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv region, they struck with a drone. There were families with children there. Six people lost their lives, including two children. A one-year-old was killed in a stroller. Another victim was an 11-year-old girl. 14 people were injured, six of them children. Rescuers are giving first aid to the victims and checking the area for explosives. This was an attack on children with no conceivable military purpose. My sincere condolences to the families and loved ones. There are no words for this pain.

A sign of how horrible it has all become. Egyptian airstrikes on Sudanese miners kill hundreds and Injures another, and nobody bats an eye anymore. Russians bomb Ukrainian buses, killing hundreds throughout last week, who cares. Hundreds killed in Nigeria, who cares. Grim.

Malik Muhammad in coverage: 6 receptions allowed on 6 targets for 124 yards, 118.8 passer rating allowed. Brandon Cisse: 1 reception on 3 targets for 13 yards, 47.9 passer rating allowed.
Malik Muhammad already has some extra motivation going into his first Bears-Packers game: “I got some tension with Green Bay because they took the corner (Brandon Cisse) over me, so it’s already smoke with them anyway.” “It being a rivalry boosted it 100 times more (for me.”

Starting Oct 19, the Trump administration is rolling back Biden-era airline passenger protections, and airlines will no longer have to provide stranded passengers with meals, hotels, or other assistance for delays or cancellations.
Airlines are no longer required lodging, meals, or other assistance when delays or cancellations. Starting October 19, under 14 CFR 234.4, rule is to reduce the number of disruptions for which airlines provide amenities or compensation. federalregister.gov/document…

The death toll has climbed to 20 civilians killed, including three children, in Russia’s glide bomb attack on Zaporizhzhia.
Here's what Russia did immediately after Trump agreed his diesel deal with Putin: Russian forces dropped a guided aerial bomb on an apartment building in Zaporizhzhia, killing at least 15 people. Russian missile and drone strikes have killed more than 80 people in Ukraine since Wednesday. ft.com/content/7fd4dffc-8adf…

Hezbollah slaughtered their way through Syria and starved women and children until they turned into "walking skeletons," all in service to prop up Bashar al-Assad, who murdered 500,000+ people. These people are celebrating terrorism and murder. They are sick in mind and soul.

A sanctioned, Chinese-owned tanker has been loitering north of Algiers for 19 days. In ballast for 7 months, no cargo, no reason to be there. Since Sep 29 it's run the same drift 3 times: 60–68nm at under 1kn, across 4 Europe–Africa–Asia cables, crossing EIG ~8 times (closest 0.24nm). Windward assesses this as a possible cover case for seabed cable survey.

Multiple factors, but here are the key reasons imo 1. Games between big programs just feel like two groups of mercenaries facing off. The teams don’t feel as tied to the fanbase or community as much anymore because guys are only there for like eight months. 2. Mercenary teams means sloppy football for the first month. And not in the fun Pac-12 way. 3. The broadcast feels like a vehicle that purely exists to get you sign up for a sportsbook. They have to dial it back. It’s too much. 4. The pregame shows don’t feel like they actually love the sport, but rather just love the conference that pays them more. 5. Vibes are off, generally.
College football viewership is down 11% through September compared to last season. FBS game broadcasts are averaging 1.7 million viewers across all Nielsen-rated networks.

It’s so annoying how we apparently need to take societal direction and cues from people who don’t go out and do anything normal, so they’re all like “what if you could do this thing that’s already possible… but now we’re middlemen and you paid us $40 billion dollars for that…?”
Instinct CEO Noah Shinn says agents will let restaurants give tables to birthdays and anniversaries over whoever clicks first "And traditionally, because of the way that the internet has worked, at least for reservations, it's been first come first serve. So anyone that comes in, no matter how important or how not important it might be, whoever gets in first gets the reservation." "But what if you had the ability for the agent to be able to communicate on both sides, communicate, hey, this is important. This is actually the person's spouse's birthday, the 30th birthday, a very special event is coming up." "And the restaurant too can say, let's actually prioritize birthdays or major decade birthdays or major anniversaries or these certain people, I don't know, whatever it might be, right?" "So now with the ability, with all of the logistical burden of having to describe exactly what your case is and what's happening and why it's important. Now we have the ability to perfectly match what does the restaurant want? What does the user want?" "And that will result in more special events for the users being able to actually have a spot in the restaurant."

I'm sorry, but if you're outraged over Mary Peltola using a few offensive words but silent on Max Miller beating his wife, Ken Paxton protecting a child sex predator, Jon Husted hiring a Nazi as his political director, or any of the far worse Republican scandals this cycle, you can fuck right off.

The following, I maintain, is true: 1. Breaking Bad is the best TV show of the 21st Century 2. Better Call Saul is not the best TV show of the 21st Century. BUT 3. Better Call Saul is better than Breaking Bad.
The New York Times ha finalizado su lista de las mejores series del siglo. Breaking Bad tomó el primer puesto.

Israel has become effectively the same as Iran - an authoritarian Middle Eastern country with no real rule of law, democracy, or respect for human rights that is being controlled by insanely stupid religious nutjobs.
Israel's Central Elections Committee voted to disqualify all Arab-led parties. That’s 20% population. Meanwhile, ministers and MKs threaten to nuke Gaza, starve the population, annex the West Bank, call to arrest journalists and enshrine Jewish law. This is who gets the all clear. haaretz.com/israel-news/elec…
