I'll also point out that WeatherWise (@WxWiseApp) is a great website that I just discovered the other day. It has similar functionality to AtticRadar, and it also works in your web browser.
I'm not sponsored or paid by them in any way, just thought I'd give a shout-out.
New server is running! Same URLs, nothing has changed on your end, don’t worry. However, the new server is provided by AWS, so *fingers crossed* we shouldn’t have latency issues anymore.
Please let me know if everything still appears to run smoothly on y’all’s end!
The source code is now public! Hope yall enjoy. Its very very messy, I wrote a lot of this over a year ago. I’d appreciate giving credit if you do find the code helpful 🫶

Hey everyone,
I've made the difficult decision to pause active development on AtticRadar, and to shut down the website by the end of the month. However, I will be open-sourcing the code. I'll explain more in this thread.
UPDATE: thanks to everyone in the wxtwitter community who offered to help me out, AtticRadar will remain online!

Quick follow-up,
I don't mean to change tune this quickly, but WOW, #wxtwitter is so awesome! I've already had MULTIPLE people offer to cover the server costs to keep the project going, so I've decided that AtticRadar will remain online!
i love you guys 🫶

Using the Correlation Coefficient radar product, we can see a blue/gray circle in the middle of the screen. These are most likely birds stick in the eye of Hurricane #Milton! CC measures the variation between the sizes/shapes of objects detected by the radar.
Credit to @US_Stormwatch for the info.
There’s an extreme wind warning in effect for the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, where some of the strongest winds from #Milton’s eyewall are occurring.
At 8:27 PM eastern time, #Hurricane #Milton is right at landfall in Florida. It has weakened from its Category 5 peak, but it is still extremely dangerous. Its winds and the resulting storm surge will be catastrophic.
120 mph winds at landfall, and a pressure of 954 mb according to the NHC. Very dangerous situation.
