Years of silence, and then one incident happens and suddenly everyone’s an analyst, an expert, and an authority on Qubic’s architecture. Not to explain how it actually works, of course, but to write the most sensational headline possible and cash in on the clicks.
Doing proper research takes time. Understanding the technology takes effort. Jumping to conclusions about a project you’ve never bothered to understand? That’s easy and apparently, much more profitable.
They didn’t suddenly discover @_Qubic_ . They discovered that Qubic gets clicks. And for some, traffic seems to matter a lot more than the truth.

A computor update secures the affected funds:
> Drained QU are moved from the attacker's addresses into a secured escrow
> 2,797 weak-seed identities are frozen and their QU + assets moved to the same escrow
> Open QX orders on frozen identities are cancelled
> The escrow is controlled by core devs, every movement is on-chain and public
A claim platform is coming to return funds to their owners. QEarn balances will follow in batches after the claim period.

Qubic just had a security incident. An attacker drained just over 1,400 wallets, about $1.3 million.
This wasn’t the Qubic network being broken. The flaw was in how some wallet seeds were created. Certain setups generated seeds with weak randomness, making them easier to crack. It comes down to specific Apple devices.
You’re at risk if you created a Qubic seed on an iPhone or iPad in any browser before the 18th of October, on a Mac using Safari before the 18th, or in the Qubic iOS app before July 2025. If that’s you, assume your seed is weak and move your funds to a brand new wallet once the network’s back up.
They halted the entire network, which froze 87% of the stolen funds. MEXC caught most of the rest. The bug’s already fixed.
Scammers love moments like this. Nobody from Qubic will ever message you first, ask for your seed, or charge you for recovery. Anyone who does is robbing you.

Apparently, there’s a new exploit going on with $QUBIC. Hackers keep doing huge damage, and it’s even worse now since AI can help them do even more damage. So, as a Senior Software Engineer with over 11 years of XP, I’ll give you some #crypto security tips to make hackers’ lives more difficult and make it almost impossible for them to steal your cryptos!
Rule number 1: Don’t hold all your bags in 1 wallet. Spread them across multiple wallets. This protects your funds against a single point of failure, so that even if 1 wallet is compromised, you still have the others and still have time to take action.
Rule number 2: NEVER USE WEB WALLETS, NEVER EVER! Remove this entire idea from your head. The only reason you should use a web wallet is to trade or do things like that.
Rule number 3: Never connect your wallet, whether it’s a Ledger, ColdCard, HashWallet, or whatever, to the web because this instantly transforms it into a hot wallet. True cold wallets are air-gapped and have NEVER touched the internet or even a device that has access to the internet.
Rule number 4: Always use multisig. What is multisig? Multisig, roughly speaking, means multiple signatures. That means once activated, you must sign the transaction with multiple devices, such as USB keys, for example, to authorize a transaction. You have different setups: 3 out of 5 or 2 out of 3, which means that for a total of 5 signatures, you need at least 3 for the transaction to happen. If you are in a 2-out-of-3 setup, it means you need at least 2 signatures.
Why is that powerful? I’ll explain it to you. Do you remember the exploit on ColdCard that happened recently? Hackers found a way to retrieve the seed phrase, but with multisig activated, they need the full combination, which means more signatories make it harder to proceed or even impossible.
Finally, having a multisig setup + a cold wallet is the only way to truly protect your funds. Hackers can’t do shit. Even quantum computers will take forever to brute-force a transaction.
