Love to see Rugby teams played in smaller grounds with higher capacity and better atmosphere. Rather than the soulless stadia you sometimes see. If they get binned by WRU, I hope they come to @premrugby because as a @LeicesterTigers fan I’d defo make an away trip!
Couldn’t be at there for @ospreys Game Day 1 last night but fantastic to see and hear it was such a success despite dreadful conditions. So much hard work has gone on over the last 4 months to make this doable, so many minor miracles achieved. This is just the start 👏🏻🙌🏻

@WelshRugbyUnion can’t you get it into your thick skulls that fans are walking away because of you? Your utter incompetence and mismanagement is why our game is in trouble. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! Tierney and Co, must step down now.

Reading the WRU's feeble and outdated explanation of why they want to kill off a great rugby club, you briefly wonder if it really is written by them or if an opponent has delivered a send-up. I have covered the affairs of scores of sporting bodies for Times newspapers over the years and this desperate bunch is easily the worst

So funny watching the Boks getting twatted by the Ospreys feeder team. Of course they resort to cheating again. #AustraliaVsSouthAfrica

An unaccountable board running Welsh rugby into the ground by pure incompetence. their biggest failure is cultural: rugby in Wales is a vital engine of community and social cohesion, not a brand to bleed dry. They have broken the trust of the nation they are supposed to represent

If they had an ounce of integrity we would not be in this position.
Do the abysmal (and silent) WRU board realise that Wales can be relegated after second running of the Nations Cup? Last week they rejected applications from two of the best sports administrators in the world, just because the pair did not agree with the WRU's plan to murder a pro team. Has anyone the guts to resign? thetimes.com/sport/rugby-uni…

Scarlets v Cardiff The first Welsh derby of the season should be lively - with one team trying to stay alive and the other given a lifeline as they're owned by the WRU. 200th appearance for Ryan Elias @DragonSportsWal

Got to hand it to the @WelshRugbyUnion, at least their incompetence and overt bias makes it easier to pick who to support when @scarlets_rugby play Old Bailout RFC

My Open Letter To World Rugby. I’m a rugby content creator and a super fan. Like a lot of people in this space, I spend hours every week breaking down games , explaining the game, and talking to fans who already love rugby, and to people just finding it. World Rugby is missing a huge opportunity. There is a global network of rugby creators already doing growth work the official channels can’t do alone. We speak plainly. We stay in the conversation between tournaments. We attract new fans. We keep old fans connected. We are not media companies. We are super fans with audiences that trust us. World Rugby should create a Content Creator Partnership Programme, with a proper benchmark, not an open door for anyone with an opinion. What World Rugby would gain. 1. Reach outside the official bubble  2. New fans who need the game explained  3. Year-round noise between Tests  4. Local voices in local languages  5. Authentic storytelling official content rarely matches  6. Cheap, scalable promotion of RWC, Nations Championship, women’s rugby and sevens  7. Better education on laws, citing and the breakdown  8. A direct line to what fans actually think The benchmark should be simple. a. Consistent original content. Real engagement, not just follower count. b. A code of conduct. Respect for players, officials and the game. c. Tiers for emerging creators and established partners. Give qualifying creators briefings, useful resources, selected access and a point of contact. In return, World Rugby gets a global network of people already evangelizing the sport every week. I am not writing this because I want a free trip or a title. I am writing it because I can see the gap from the inside. The people who care enough to spend their nights editing rugby videos are already doing World Rugby’s growth job. The question is whether World Rugby wants to work with them or keep leaving that energy on the table. If World Rugby is serious about expanding the game, this is one of the most obvious, affordable, and human ways to do it. I would be happy to help design the framework, talk through qualification standards, or connect the organization with creators who are already doing this work for the love of the game. Rugby does not just need more content. It needs the right people telling the story. Let’s build that partnership. #worldrugby #rugbycreators

Separate from climate change, the pollution from burning fossil fuels kills 8 million people every year (1-in-5 deaths) yet there is virtually no discussion of that. hsph.harvard.edu/c-change/ne…

As horrible as the Nepal disaster is, that's not the story. The Himalayan glaciers, source of water for the Asian subcontinent, are collapsing. Soon, some 2B people will be forced to migrate. Wherever they show up, they'll be met with machine guns. The coal mine canary is dead.

How the hell do you ever come back from the sheer terror of watching a wall of water destroy everything around you? Big Oil counts its profits while vulnerable communities pay the price. We need accountability now. 📍Nepal-Tibet border

And there you have it!!! It's the first thing that came to my mind but the 'earthquake' that wasn't an earthquake threw a spanner in the works. NEPAL FLOOD: Researchers emphasize that this sudden, devastating surge was fueled by climate-driven glacial thinning. Scientists at Kathmandu University and ICIMOD report that this thinning caused a massive glacier break-off, triggering a 5.2-magnitude seismic event and a flash flood along the Nepal-Tibet border. Satellite assessments show that the resulting ice and rock avalanche temporarily dammed the Lhende River before bursting downstream

This is what happens when glaciers melt and thin. Driven by climate change, Nepal has lost nearly a third of its mountain ice volume over the last thirty years according to the UN. This rapid, warming-induced glacial thinning removes the natural structural support holding up the peaks, making the surrounding slopes incredibly unstable and highly prone to massive, catastrophic collapses.

🚨 Ten years after Brexit referendum, the House of Commons Library has assessed the evidence in advance of a Westminster Hall debate on Wednesday 2 September led by @PeteWishart Its conclusion? There is a broad consensus among economists that Brexit has made the UK economy smaller than it otherwise would have been. Estimates of the GDP loss: 2–8%. OBR long-term assumption: 4%. Expected hit to UK trade: 15%. Meanwhile EU net migration fell below zero but non-EU migration surged, peaking above 1 million. We sacrificed freedom of movement, erected barriers with our largest market and made ourselves poorer. And overall migration went UP. Ten years of evidence. How much more evidence do we need before Britain changes course?
