My lab is proud to have a contribution to this interesting finding. CD20+ T and NK cells are two overlooked lymphocyte fractions. Their significance will increase in the future. Keep watching.

"So eventually you understand the situation. You respect the player, but you also realise he cannot receive his own pass."
🚨 Alessandro Bastoni on Arda Guler after Italy’s 4-1 win over Turkey: “People saw me asking Arda for his shirt after the game and apparently some were surprised. Why? We won the match. It doesn’t mean I suddenly forgot who can play football. There was a point in the first half where he kept receiving the ball, turning and finding passes between us. After a while I told the others, ‘Stay close to him. If Turkey are going to create something, it will probably start here.’ The strange part was that after he released the ball, sometimes our problem solved itself. So eventually you understand the situation. You respect the player, but you also realise he cannot receive his own pass. At the end I saw him throw something to the ground. He looked angry. I went over and asked for his shirt. He looked at me almost like, ‘After 4-1?’ I said, ‘Arda, I’m a defender. When I spend an entire game worrying about one player, I keep a souvenir.’ People will look at the score and think he had a bad night because Turkey lost. I don’t see football like that. Sometimes the hardest player to defend is playing for the easier team to defend.”

@saglikbakanligi

Peer review is not simply dead. Far worse, it has transformed into a Zombie killing science and young scientists.
For decades, peer review has been treated as the gold standard of scientific validation. Yet many scientists know the reality: the system is far from perfect. Peer review is broken and sometimes even corrupted. The process can be slow, inconsistent, and vulnerable to bias. Reviewers are sometimes asked to judge work outside their true expertise. In other cases, they may be evaluating ideas that challenge the very paradigm in which they were trained. And occasionally, reviewers are simply competitors. Ironically, the most prestigious journals can also be the most conservative. Truly new ideas are often met with skepticism, while safer work that fits the current narrative moves more easily through the system. Increasingly, papers are judged less by the originality of the idea and more by the volume of data, the sophistication of statistics, and the beauty of the figures. Science risks becoming data-rich but idea-poor. But there is an important reality to remember: journals do not ultimately decide the impact of scientific work. Impact is decided later, by the community. By the scientists who read it, test it, debate it, and cite it. In the end, citations and ideas determine the legacy of a paper, not the impact factor of the journal that first published it. Science has always advanced by questioning assumptions. Perhaps it is time we also question the system that filters scientific ideas.
