Big day: Ataraxis raised a $20.4 million Series A from @aixventureshq, @peterthiel, and other top tier VC funds and angel investors, including OpenAI & DeepMind researchers. This funding round comes just a few months after we revealed Ataraxis Breast, the world's first AI-native platform to personalize treatment in breast cancer patients. We also launched Kestrel, our state-of-the-art foundation model for digital pathology. Our frontier AI lab is dedicated to developing and clinically deploying tools that personalize treatment for cancer patients. In October, an 8,000-patient clinical validation study confirmed that Ataraxis Breast accurately identifies high- and low-risk patients, significantly outperforming legacy diagnostic tests. Ataraxis Breast is just the first of many Ataraxis products, and with our Series A financing, we will accelerate their development and deployment to help cancer patients worldwide. Ataraxis is already back to building, and we’re looking for exceptional people to join us. If you're passionate about AI and medicine and want to be a part of the fastest-growing AI precision medicine company, consider joining our team: jobs.ashbyhq.com/ataraxis-ai We are sharing this milestone alongside an exclusive TechCrunch feature. A huge thank you to our employees, investors, patients, and physicians—this journey wouldn’t be possible without you. This is just the beginning.

Today Ataraxis is announcing results of two clinical validation studies of our AI model predicting breast cancer response to neoadjuvant therapy: 1. Clinical validation in @wearemedsir-sponsored PHERGain and PHERGain-2 clinical trials (N=689), which evaluated de-escalated chemotherapy regimens in HER2+ breast cancer. In both trials, Ataraxis successfully predicted both pathologic complete response (pCR) and long-term outcomes: go.ataraxis.ai/neo-phergain 2. Real-world validation in 1,412 patients across nine independent cohorts in five countries, outperforming standard biomarkers, such as tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes: go.ataraxis.ai/neo In addition to clinical validation data, we also announced MORPHEUS, a new component of Ataraxis’s technology. MORPHEUS is a pan-cancer model trained to predict gene expression from an H&E slide, creating a “virtual molecular portrait” of a patient. MORPHEUS is now included in Ataraxis’s base prognostic/predictive models and lets us build more accurate and interpretable AI models, even when outcome data is scarce. Our research team walks through the methodology and key results in this new blog post: ataraxis.ai/biologically-inf… Thank you to our collaborators, including the @wearemedsir team.

We are launching Ataraxis ARC, a prospective study designed to evaluate Ataraxis's AI model predictions and link them with real-world short- and long-term cancer patient outcomes. ARC will initially enroll 1,000 patients across top cancer centers. Ataraxis ARC is one of the first studies designed to generate prospective, real-world evidence measuring how clinical AI tools influence treatment decisions and outcomes. ARC is now launching at multiple partner sites known for their experience integrating AI into clinical practice, with additional centers joining as the study expands. ARC is a pan-cancer study by design. Enrollment is starting with invasive breast cancer patients and will soon expand to other solid tumors. As part of the ARC study, investigators at participating sites will perform ancillary studies broadening the scientific reach of Ataraxis’s tests and data collection over time, and expanding the clinical and translational evidence behind our clinical AI tools. Ataraxis AI is proud to join the Lobular American Research Consortium, the first national, investigator-led consortium in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC). ILC affects up to 20% of breast cancer patients, yet receives less than 1% of dedicated research funding. It is a subtype whose distinct biology was not front of mind when many of today's standard risk assessment tools were built. Ataraxis is developing AI models that work for patients with all molecular and histologic subtypes, and has been clinically validated in invasive lobular cancer. We're glad to contribute, and looking forward to the work ahead with the group, including Dr. Matthew Sikora, Dr. Rita Mukhtar, Dr. Rachel Jankowitz and Dr. Steffi Oesterreich. Ataraxis’s laboratory has been accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and licensed by the State of California, placing us among the first clinical AI labs to meet this level of regulatory rigor while expanding into one of the country's largest markets. CAP accreditation is a major regulatory milestone: This decision follows an on-site inspection by practicing pathologists covering clinical protocols, personnel qualifications, instrumentation, safety programs, and quality management. The program carries CMS deeming authority, so the inspection stands in place of a CMS inspection under CLIA. The California license permits us to receive and process specimens from patients in California, unlocking one of the largest markets in the country, where Ataraxis already has a large base of collaborators across NCI cancer centers and community clinics. Clinicians in the state can now order all Ataraxis AI analyses. See full release: businesswire.com/news/home/2…

New publication: In a multi-institutional clinical validation study just published in Clinical Breast Cancer, Ataraxis™ Breast was shown to be prognostic in premenopausal, node-positive breast cancer patients, outperforming legacy genomic tests. This study demonstrates how our AI methods expand the scope of cancer patients whose outcomes can be predicted. Historically, molecular assays have not worked well in many subpopulations, including clinically higher-risk groups such as younger women with HR+/HER2- breast cancer and lymph node involvement. In our study, Ataraxis Breast stratified these patients and provided accurate estimates for both early (0–5 years) and late (5–10 years) recurrence risk. Read at: clinical-breast-cancer.com/a…

Ataraxis is heading to ASCO 2026 with new predictive data supporting our first-in-class tools. For the first time, we're presenting clinical evidence that AI can predict treatment benefits of adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapies in breast cancer on an individual basis, rather than relying on population averages and overall cancer aggressiveness.  We will present our first clinical validation in a  Phase III randomized controlled trial and results of a prospective trial of Ataraxis Breast. - Estimating Individual Benefit from Adjuvant Chemotherapy in Hormone Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer Using Causal Multimodal Artificial Intelligence (Dr. Frederick Howard, UChicago Medicine) - Evaluating Performance of an AI-Based Recurrence Score in Early Breast Cancer Patients Treated with Chemoendocrine Therapy: A Secondary Analysis of the UNIRAD Trial (Dr. Thomas Bachelot, Centre Léon Bérard) - Real-World Deployment of a Multimodal AI Model for Predicting Response to Neoadjuvant Therapy in Early Breast Cancer (Dr. Bareket Daniel, PhD, Shaare Zedek Medical Center) - Evaluating the Prognostic Performance of an AI-Based Model in Clinically Low-Risk HR+/HER2- Early Breast Cancer (Dr. Dhruva Biswas MD PhD, Ataraxis AI) We look forward to sharing how AI is transforming breast cancer care. See you in Chicago!

Today, we announced the launch of Ataraxis Breast NEO, a predictive test estimating the likelihood of pathologic complete response (pCR) to neoadjuvant therapy in early-stage breast cancer. With the addition of Ataraxis Breast NEO, the Ataraxis Breast suite now supports treatment decisions across the full patient journey, starting in the neoadjuvant setting and extending across multiple stages of care. Using a standard core needle biopsy H&E slide collected at initial diagnosis, NEO estimates pCR likelihood across all major breast cancer subtypes: HER2+, triple-negative, and HR+/HER2-negative patients. NEO has already been clinically validated in more than 1,500 patients from real-world and prospective clinical trial cohorts and is now available for clinical use as part of the Ataraxis™ Breast suite, alongside RISK and CTX, expanding the suite’s ability to inform care from a single H&E slide. Today, we announced the launch of Ataraxis Breast CTX, individualized chemotherapy benefit prediction test, and Ataraxis Tau, a causal inference platform. Ataraxis Breast CTX is the first predictive test for HR+/HER2- breast cancer that does not rely on recurrence risk categories to identify adjuvant chemotherapy benefit. CTX estimates recurrence risk reduction for each patient, and helps find patients who benefit, but also who might still have significant residual risk. CTX was developed using Ataraxis Tau, our causal inference platform. Ataraxis Tau allows AI models to recover treatment effects from real-world, multi-institutional, observational data. Tau is Ataraxis’s AI engine to develop and validate predictive tests across all cancer types. Ataraxis Breast CTX has already been clinically and analytically validated in observational and clinical trial data, and is now available for breast cancer patients as part of Ataraxis Breast suite.
