Sad to learn the passing of the legendary Frank Shu. I talked to him a few years ago when he released the first joint publication of @AstrophyJournal . We always remember his book that has guided almost all students of astronomy. @asipoec @IAScBng
Sad to learn that Frank Shu has died (focustaiwan.tw/culture/20230…). His book taught me much of what I know about astronomy, as it formed the reference material for the scary oral “Shu Exam” that was a required qualifier for all Harvard astronomy PhD students back in the day.
