Alas, X has lost its lustre for me. I was here to interact socially and professionally with colleagues, with a bit of sci comm (not to mention staying on top of Astro gossip). Sadly, none of these are happening these days.
Very lucky to be attending Star-Planet Interaction and Aeronomy workshop in Saint Malo, France. Beautiful city
Having fun at the Past, Present, Future conference, celebrating 75 years of @ASTRON_NL. Lots of amazing talks about the early and risky days of @LOFAR and WSRT.
Great to have Shari Breen from @SKAO presenting the colloquium at @ASTRON_NL/@jivevlbi on all the amazing progress of in building and early operations of the SKA!
If you want to know anything about radio signatures of exoplanets, star-planet interactions, or space weather, check out our @NatureAstronomy perspective! You can access it (for free) here: rdcu.be/d0bYI
Great to have this paper out there!
🌌 Radio signals from stars reveal magnetic storms & space weather on exoplanets! 🌠 These signals help us study solar bursts, auroras, and magnetic star-planet interactions.
@AstroJoeC is 1st author of this paper, explaining more about it.

It is Astrofest for @ASTRON_NL /@jivevlbi today! We get together once-a-year and discuss about what motivates us (whether that is a particular science problem or our hobbies).
Excited to announce the upcoming conference: “Beyond Earth: Lunar and Space Radio Missions”. The conference is set to take place May 12-15, 2025, at @ASTRON_NL, and is sponsored by @brkthroughprize. Save the date!
Commiserations to my American colleagues. Note that we are hiring a Bell Burnell Fellow at @ASTRON_NL. Please reach out if you have any questions! aas.org/jobregister/ad/a10ee…
Nice work @jeremyrigney! Welcome to the Dr Club
Congratulations @jeremyrigney @DIASDunsink @ArmaghSpace passing his @QUBelfast PhD viva today, and thanks to the external examiner @AstroJoeC @ASTRON_NL #ProudSupervisor
Heading to Heidelberg to give the joint-colloquium! Happy to have coffee, lunch, dinner with anyone in the area. Will be there until Thursday.
Great to have George Heald visiting @ASTRON_NL/@jivevlbi and presenting on all his awesome work on ASKAP and in his new role at @SKAO
Pretty wild to think I was watching this being assembled last time I was visiting @NASAJPL
When I moved to the Netherlands nearly 8 years ago, I never expected that one day I would become Dutch. A big change for a boy from regional Australia. Anyway, language exams all passed and one step closer to being a lowlander! #nederlandse #nederland
Come join us at the @ASTRON_NL Open Day! A beautiful day to wonder the forest and check out telescopes
I am very excited that my team's @NatureAstronomy perspective on radio stars and exoplanets is now out in the wild! arxiv.org/abs/2409.15507
In particular, I want to personally thank @fringetracker for making sure we got this across the line (when my momentum flagged on the paper) and @rkavanagh_ for all his modelling input and beautiful images.
