Astrid isn't a DAT, it's an operating infrastructure company focused solely on Bittensor. But due to partnerships, it does have various long term holdings of some subnets. And therefore, a way for UK stock market investor to gain some exposure to Bittensor via a vehicle structure they are familiar with.
For transparency to our shareholders, we have created 2 week-lagging Capital Composition page. It lags, so that if there are significant changes, we have ample time to RNS it.

$TAO has done well. It's cleanly passed a few key levels now, but it absolutely has to stick the landing and not retrace below that hole.
Ideally, if it were to stay above $300 that's a cherry on the cake, but that sloping support is more important.
Either way, it's building up to be a lovely falling compression on the bigger time frame...
Closing above that thick resistance around $350-380 is the mega level. Close and stay above that for a few weeks and we are off to the races...
At some point over the next 48 hours, SN127 will be undergoing a security based Cold Key Swap.
We will be separating the 127 alpha into a new Treasury wallet for extra safe keeping, and CKSing to a separate new wallet.
So if you see the CKS happening, there is no sale of the subnet or new team coming in. Just tightening security.
Astrid Arena's new month long BTC only battle starts tomorrow!
Now we are solely focused on just 1 asset class, hopefully miners will be able to really refine their Trading Agents. And it's only 1x leverage long or short, so no big lucky trades will help you.
The new Astrid Score will be used and the top 3 performers will earn roughly $25k.
And agents that are consistently profitable over 3, 6, 9 and 12 months will also get extra rewards.
All you need to do is give your Agent this: arena.astrid.global/skill.md
It will know all the rules, how to join and how to compete. All you need to do is just chat with it to come up with a good strategy.
Good luck!
The next Battle will commence 24th August. Will be Bitcoin only and you will be able to long or short it at 1x lev, in order to get the cleanest signals.
A new md skill file with all the new instructions will be released next week.
We are also exploring ways to make it easier to onboard miners.

Exciting...
Astrid Arena Update - 07 Aug 26
ACTIVITY
It's been busy here at Astrid. We've had several Battles (where competing Agents trade) completed over the last few months and we've absorbed a considerable amount of data. Data which has now helped us really pinpoint and refine how we operate.
For the last couple of months, one commercialisation route we explored was a concept we called Arena V4. The idea was for competing agents to trade through funded decentralised exchange accounts, with Astrid receiving a share of the trading activity generated.
After deeper legal, technical and commercial review, we’ve decided not to pursue that structure. It introduced a level of regulatory and operating complexity that simply wasn’t proportionate to what we were trying to achieve.
Importantly, the work wasn’t wasted. Quite the opposite. Exploring V4 helped clarify what Arena is actually good at, where V3 is currently weak and how we can make the subnet materially more useful.
The conclusion is that we don’t need to reinvent Arena. We need to narrow it.
LEARNINGS
1.) Dataset. Looking at the data gleaned from our miners (competing Agents), it seems as though the playing field is too broad. We are getting intelligence, but it's somewhat scattered. So the solution here is to narrow the experiments. Instead of Agents trading a basket of different assets, we will be reducing it to 1 asset; Bitcoin. Bitcoin gives us a globally traded, highly liquid 24/7 market with enough history and depth to run meaningful experiments over long periods. So focusing Astrid on honing the best Bitcoin Trading Algorithm/Agent possible has immense value. Not only that, it will allow our Miners to really dial in their Agents and save them resources. As time and Battles progress, it will also enable Astrid to really refine our own inhouse Astrid Bitcoin Agent. Once we have a stable Agent, this of course has many different commercialisation routes.
2.) Too few miners. Simply, we need more Agents competing. More Agents = more signal = better Astrid Agent. Currently, it's rather hard for a person to enter the Arena. They have to create a Trading Agent, source various information feeds (price/volume etc), they need strategies for various different asset classes which all behave differently. Therefore, we will be making the process much simpler. In essence, we will share an Agent harness which newcomers could easily and quickly adopt. Then all they need to do is chat with it to come up with their Bitcoin strategy. This would then enable us to better market to the vast world of traders out there, not just to the Bittensor echo-chamber. If someone out there thinks they are a good trader or has a good strategy, we need to make it as simple as possible for them to enter the Arena. Once we've found a slick way to onboard new Miners, we can start doing much more marketing.
3.) Scoring. Obviously, using P&L over a month Battle is a poor evaluation metric. This is why we have the Astrid Score. A composition of Trading metrics relevant to Arena.
A blend of:
- Net return after all costs
- Calmar Ratio
- Sortino Ratio
- Inverted Ulcer index
- Maximum drawdown
- Rolling Period Consistency
- Execution quality and activity
We believe we are rapidly closing in on a good mixture of weights with those metrics. Hopefully, over time, the Astrid Score can become an industry used metric to determine Trading Agent efficacy.
4.) Battle Duration. We currently have month long Battles. Which has always been too short in my opinion, but we needed to balance the experiments with Agent rewards. In an ideal solution, you judge and reward an Agent over their performance over an epoch of 5 years. But then Arena and Astrid wouldn't be able to reward and incentivise them to work for that long. However, due to the high frequency trading nature of these Agents, there is an ample enough dataset produced over the space of a quarter. So we will be exploring the set up of month long Battles, but also rewarding Agents over a 3, 6, 9 and 12 month period. The longer an Agent is consistently profitable, the more it should be rewarded! Currently, we have Agents doing well in one Battle, then not so well in another. So we need to reward and measure consistency almost as much as profitability.
IMPLEMENTATIONS
Moving forward, internally, it will be much of the same, but more focused. But for outside eyes looking in, here is what to expect.
1.) Better Agent onboarding process.
2.) Marketing to bring on more Agents.
3.) Revised Astrid Score.
4.) Trading assets focused solely on spot Bitcoin, no leverage. This will give us the purest signals.
5.) Monthly Battles commencing every 2 weeks, but monitoring and rewarding for Agents consistent over longer epochs.
6.) Frontier Benchmarking. I personally would like to see on the Arena at least 6 frontier models also competing. Something like ChatGPT, Grok and Fable with both a basic prompt and engineered prompt. One of the things I’m personally most interested in is seeing exactly when frontier AI models become genuinely competent market participants. If and when frontier models become consistently profitable traders from relatively simple prompts, Arena should give us a fascinating front-row seat to that transition. This is rather costly though. To run those models internally like this is a fair monetary cost as each model will be doing calls/processes every few minutes. So we will find a sweet spot on how to roll this out.
Exciting times ahead and I look forward to seeing more people competing in the Arena with their agents!
Interesting thoughts between Revenue and Research subnets.
Looking forward to this. But like everything in life, the answer is on a spectrum.
It's not revenue OR research. Bittensor needs both. And does both.
This debate historically stems from OLD dTAO where a subnet had constant sell side from miners. So if you were a research subnet with zero breakthrough product or revenue for years, your subnet chart would ONLY go down. As we've seen with many big subnet charts over the last 18 months.
This is why we set up the Revenue Search podcast. But many people seemed to misunderstand or get the wrong end of the stick with what we were trying to say.
We absolutely need research subnets as it's those that will EVENTUALLY make massive game changing breakthroughs. Subnets like SN9 Iota or SN68 Nova etc. Research subnets will likely garner more eyeballs than any revenue subnet. But only once they fruit. But research/lab fruition like that can take years. And if a research subnet doesn't gather enough long term HODLers that believe in their mission, the subnet could just end up bleeding into dereg. We've already seen this with the old SN76 Safescan that was SOTA for optical melanoma detection.
So for a logical dTAO investor that didn't want to be exposed to down-bleed-only charts, they had to allocate into subnets which were actual businesses. A business that could drum up revenue and then profit in order to do alpha purchases to offset miner sell side. This has been the holy grail for many subnets and only Bitcast was able to do it in revenue, but not alpha purchases.
Also the added benefit of allocating into revenue bizzes is that if they are making revenue and profit, that's intrinsic value in itself. So it's a form of safety blanket considering 99.99999% of digital assets/companies aren't profitable.
And the other thing why I was so hard in driving the revenue messaging is for Bittensor itself. The best marketing in the whole darn world are green dildo candles. If a subnet achieved that holy grail and chart was up only, it would attract many new eyeballs to buy TAO and then buy that subnet. Imagine if you had 10-20 subnets that were doing alpha purchases in excess of miner sell side every day. It would/will bring many new TAO investors.
So that's the nuance of the Research Vs Revenue debate folks. We need both!
But a lot of what I said is now hopefully going to be a moot point with the new dTAO changes from last night. Where high price subnets with no/low miner burn are likely to get more injections and chain buys than miner sell side.
So as of last night, this is a big new line in the sand for dTAO to move up from...

AI agents will rewrite financial markets.
1. Democratisation
Everyone gets a personal analyst. The edge that used to sit behind private banks and hedge funds becomes a default setting.
2. Always on
Agents trade 24/7. They hunt alpha and exploit the temporal inefficiencies humans don't notice.
3. On-chain by default
Agents move at machine speed. Legacy rails cannot settle that fast, so money has to become programmable.
This presentation from CEO Siam Kidd explains the evolution of Money, Energy, Trends and AI. Worth a watch.
In this live presentation at the "Inside Bittensor" event by DSV Fund, Siam opens up the day with a fascinating insight into the evolution of money and networks. He shares:
💶 Why money is crystallised work energy.
🕸️Why most things we use are by-products of defence networks.
🪙How Bitcoin is revolutionising energy storage and transfer.
🤖Why AI is progressing MUCH faster than people think.
🌎Why Bittensor is the 3rd great global network that might transform AI.
⚡️Why the independent AI start ups in the Bittensor ecosystem can move much faster than centralised AI labs.
🚀Why Bittensor is mimicking the growth of Bitcoin, but faster...

Financial agents aren’t the fringe use case of AI. They’re the perfect match. Huge amounts of unstructured data to turn into a signal.
Coinbase for Agents proves the demand. Execution was never the hard part. A strategy that survives out of sample is.
