ALT HMICFRS State of Policing 2025–26 report cover. The graphic includes the HMICFRS logo and title "State of Policing 2025–26" alongside a collage of policing-related images showing neighbourhood engagement, mounted officers, forensic investigators, a uniformed police officer on patrol and a crime scene investigator examining police tape.
In an article for @PolicingInsight, APCC Chair @emilyspurrell highlights that recent claims around ‘two-tier’ policing are distracting from the bigger question – how to build a police service that is trusted by everyone, and communities that are both safe and cohesive.

APCC members at the General Meeting today received an update from Lord Herbert CBE following the recent publication of the Leadership Commission.
He spoke about the Review's recommendations and held a Q&A session with PCCs.
Esther Ghey, speaking at the first day of the APCC General Meeting, during a panel discussion on the impact of the phone free education campaign.
Esther began campaigning for phone-free schools after the murder of her daughter Brianna in 2023, because she believes smartphones and harmful online content had seriously affected Brianna’s wellbeing, safety and education before her death.
@danpricelab and Cheshire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner have backed a county-wide ambition for all mainstream state high schools in Cheshire to become phone-free, offering up to £150,000 from proceeds of crime funding to help schools buy lockable phone pouches.
