Sport and physical activity cannot be accessible when leisure facilities, like our own, are being forced to permanently close☹️
The Government’s new Sport and Physical Activity Strategy will help the country take strides towards being a healthier, more active nation, uphold integrity in sport and ensure we’re moving towards a more financially and environmentally-sustainable sport sector.

Dear @AngelaRayner. Thursday 31st August is the final night that our swimming club can use it’s home facilities, before we are forced to move to another town in Tameside, due to the closure of Active Ashton on the 3rd Sept.
The support you have shown to prevent the closure has been non-existent. We do not feel heard, or represented by you. You have ignored our pleas and cries for help to prevent this closure, when we have needed you most.
So @AngelaRayner, you have one last chance to visit us. We train from 7:30pm. We want you to help us here in St Peter’s Ward. We want the support our local MP should be giving us. Come down to see us on our final night.

Our Chairman, Steve Shilley, appeared on @BBCPolitics today. Thanks to @BBCNews for helping us to fight to keep a leisure centre in Ashton-U-Lyne. We’ve been overwhelmed with support from everyone… ❤️except @TamesideCouncil 👎🏼 #saveourpool #bbcnews
