Mike Tomlin offers a reminder of how much coaches give and what can get pushed aside along the way. “Man, when you lead a football team and football organization, sometimes you put yourself last. So it’s been good to kind of focus on some things like [my wellness] and really just have time to be present with my family and friends.” This is a small glimpse into the personal tradeoffs behind a career spent leading at the highest level. There's no doubt that excellence requires commitment and many coaches willingly give because they care deeply about the work and the people they lead. But stories like this should also prompt us to examine how we can better support them along the way. On National Coaches Day, let’s celebrate the impact of coaches at every level and consider what they need to sustain it. Time for their health. Presence with their families. Support for their own challenges. Those things deserve a place in a coaching career too. 🎥: Dan Patrick Show
