Easy cheap way to do name seals with your students! I hot glued 1.5x1.5" Styrofoam squares to strips of cardboard. They just use a ballpoint pen to carve their name, then bend back the cardboard flaps as little handles while stamping.
Our #HoustonLivestockShowAndRodeo artist's are on display in the foyer. They did an incredible job on these Western-themed masterpieces.

Many thanks to @carlemuseum for this #AshleyBryan exhibit at @PtldMuseumofArt that I've already visited three times.
Our #BlackHistoryMonth2020 collaborative mural is up! 4th grade students read #AhleyBryan 's "Beautiful Blackbird" and worked to recreate this spread using the same style and media (cut paper) as the artist.
Our Ashley Bryan collaborative mural is coming together nicely! 4th grade will wrap this up tomorrow 🐦
One of my 4th grade students called me over and said "Can you help me? The one on the right is supposed to be a girl but instead it looks like Katt Williams 😞" 😂💀

2nd and 4th are studying William H Johnson's paintings. Can't wait to see how these turn out tomorrow ✨
2nd grade painting sunset silhouettes 🌇 I do a version of this lesson every year and the kids always love it + it's very difficult to mess up. It's a great lesson to give the students a little confidence boost before or after a very challenging lesson.
Pre-K (left), 1st grade (center), and 2nd grade (right) also did the Seurat fruit paintings. They loved learning about pointillism (though it was a bit tedious).
4th grade Seurat still life paintings! They really honed in on all the different colors they could see in the fruit 🍐🍑

Vibrant colors and shapes define the artwork of #AlmaWoodseyThomas. Her art made its way to the @WhiteHouse And she didn't hit her stride until she was in her 70s! #NeverTooLate #TheLegacyLives @CityofAtlanta @Harris_LaNese @samcrenshaw23

#AlmaWoodseyThomas was a role model for women, African Americans, and older artists. She developed her signature style in her 70s! Her painting "Iris, Tulips, Jonquils, and Crocuses" (1969) is on view now. Learn more about her → bit.ly/2V0FT5z #BlackHistoryMonth
