Children born extremely preterm are born in the midst of a cytokine storm, its barrier tissues are poorly developed and they require invasive procedures which is associated with high risks of infections and inflammatory complications. Better understanding of how immune cells evolve in such children is needed and here @BunmiOlaloye @LizaKonnikova lab provide important insights towards this: science.org/doi/10.1126/scit…
