Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly attended the UK Armed Forces and Irish Defence Force men’s football match at Ballymacash Rangers Football Club’s Bluebell Stadium tonight. This is the first time the fixture has taken place in Northern Ireland and the deputy First Minister took the opportunity to welcome the teams to Lisburn.

The Regiment held its annual Remembrance Service on Sunday at St. Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.
This year’s focus was on the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Campaign and the Liberation of Rome.

In 2024 the Army Cadet Force (ACF) are marking 80 years in Northern Ireland.
This morning, to celebrate this massive milestone, Cadets paraded through Ballyclare, where the first unit was established. The parade involved nearly 200 young people and 50 adult volunteers.

Today we had the honour to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of 38 Irish Brigade @ArmyinNI the first Allied troops to enter the Vatican after the Liberation of Rome. The Pipes and Drums of @RIrishRegiment played in St Peter’s Square for @Pontifex as they did 80 years ago. 🫡🇬🇧
