Space is Wildcat Country!
I love visiting students who are growing up in a world where America is returning to the Moon, building a Moon Base, preparing to get underway under nuclear power, and launching missions to unlock the secrets of the universe. The students at the University of Arizona are already playing a part, just as this institution has since the earliest days of America’s space program. From incredibly badass missions like OSIRIS-REx, to NIRCam on Webb and HiRISE at Mars, to their work on LEMS that NASA astronauts will deploy on the lunar surface, and now Pandora studying exoplanet atmospheres, this university has its fingerprints all over the great frontier. Just so exciting to be around and witness.

Fingers crossed.
Katalyst Space — developer of the LINK spacecraft set to service NASA’s Swift observatory — has provided an update on the Swift Boost Mission. During LINK’s commissioning, teams lost control of the spacecraft’s attitude control, resulting in a multi-axis spin and loss of comms.

One of our best turnouts!
It was a pleasure hosting the Arizona Space Roundtable last night, run by @StephenFleming . I spoke about space data centers and Phantom Cloud, its ten-year development history, and why it is running in different circles than the prevailing space data center discussion.

Today, a team member will enter the Space Analog for the Moon & Mars at @b2science for a duration of two weeks. In a process referred to as "bioregeneration" the carbon dioxide he produces will be converted to oxygen by 144 pea plants grown in four hydroponics racks. This simple yet effective demonstration lays the foundation for long-duration human space exploration, a means to revitalize air in other-world habitats while producing nutritious foods. samb2.space/

Big win for an Arizona new-space company!
Two companies with a shared vision for the future of space just joined forces 🤝 @katalystspace has acquired @AtomosSpace, combining their expertise to make in-orbit servicing — like docking, upgrading, and extending the life of satellites — more routine and reliable. With Atomos’ technology and team now part of Katalyst, they’re building toward a future where spacecraft 🚀 can be upgraded and repaired in orbit, boosting the resilience of missions and strengthening the foundation for the growing space economy. 📷 via @payloadspace
