Here’s why that distance is terrifying. Quitobaquito isn’t just a pond on the surface. It’s fed by underground water, a fragile aquifer that reacts to everything happening around it. The first wall already dropped the flow here in 2020 just from nearby construction. Bulldozers don’t have to touch the springs to kill them.
Here’s what makes this INSANE. There’s already a 30-foot wall standing right there. Already built.
So what are the bulldozers doing? Building another one. A second, parallel wall, 100 feet north of the first.
