🚨🇦🇷🇬🇧 Argentina is taking Britain to an international TRIBUNAL over oil drilling near the Falkland Islands
Milei wants the drilling stopped!!!
Argentina says it has requested emergency measures from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea to prevent the UK from exploiting oil and gas resources in the disputed waters.
Buenos Aires argues that British-authorized drilling violates its claimed sovereign rights over the surrounding continental shelf.

"We don't conduct these things at a press conference, on a tarmac in a foreign country, because you or someone else wrote a story 'cause someone gave it to you...THAT'S NEVER THE WAY IT'S GONNA WORK WITH ME."
"I don't even know what you're reporting is true. You guys somehow walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it — it's GOSEPL? It's NOT the gospel. Not the gospel for me!"

BUENOS AIRES HONORS FORMER HAMAS HOSTAGE IAIR HORN
The Buenos Aires City Legislature named Argentine-Israeli survivor Iair Horn an honorary guest of the city during a ceremony marking three years since the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023.
Horn, who lived most of his life in Buenos Aires, was held in Gaza for 498 days.
The tribute took place in the Golden Hall. Guests included DAIA president Mauro Berenstein. A second measure honoring all victims was also approved.
A video welcomed Horn with the words “Iair, welcome home” and showed recordings of terrorists boasting of the killings.
BA house member Wolff cited Hamas’s 1988 charter and said that only 39 of 197 countries condemned the attack. He recalled that about 1,200 people were killed and 251 kidnapped, including the Horn brothers, and called it the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
Moved by the images, Horn described the tunnels as the largest labyrinth he had known and said he survived by assuming he was already dead.
He regained peace only when his brother Eitan was freed after 738 days, and closed with “Nunca más”—Never Again—.

Argentina to Take Malvinas Oil Dispute to UN Sea Tribunal
Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno said the government has opened international arbitration to halt the Sea Lion hydrocarbon project north of the Malvinas Islands and will seek urgent measures at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea if Britain does not stop operations.
London has 14 days to suspend work on the Rockhopper–Navitas venture in the North Malvinas Basin. Quirno called the move part of President Javier Milei’s strategy to challenge British licenses. “If the United Kingdom does not suspend exploitation, we will go to the Tribunal,” he said.
Officials argue the fields lie on Argentina’s continental shelf and that unilateral development violates UN resolutions 2065 and 31/49, which recognize the sovereignty dispute and urge both sides to avoid changing the status quo. First production is slated for 2028; Buenos Aires says it is acting early to prevent it.
Argentina is also pressing companies and financiers to choose between disputed licenses and access to its own energy assets.
Quirno stressed the goal is recovery of sovereignty, not coexistence. A federal judge has already issued a precautionary order against the firms involved.

🇦🇷🇬🇧 Milei just escalated Argentina’s fight with the UK over the Malvinas.
He ordered the Foreign Ministry and legal teams to begin international arbitration over the Sea Lion oil project in the North Falkland Basin, giving London two weeks to stop the exploitation before Argentina seeks provisional measures from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.
The government is also moving against companies tied to unauthorized activity around the islands, including sanctions and criminal complaints.
