From the start I knew I was gonna love Control Resonant, but I can't believe it might actually be even better than the first one. Dylan Faden is genuinely such a fantastic character, and they've done such a good job of continuing to develop the setting in interesting & fun ways.

I was at first worried regarding the seeming presence of an overbearing comms character (focus L) but I genuinely can't get enough of Zoe. Her relationship with Dylan meaningfully develops over the course of the game and she is never annoying or even condescending to the player.

One of my favorite things about Control Resonant is the way it shows how the culture of the FBC has fractured and changed. Throughout the game you'll hear random FBC employees who have never been to the oldest house before, having joined while it was cut off.

The lack of central leadership and the new teams and new people created and brought in has led to different FBC agents having different ideas of what the FBC is and should be, as well as it what it means to them. Even beyond the distinction between rangers and researchers, etc, -

There are those who joined the FBC during the lockdown, those who joined before but got cut off from leadership, and tons of other little distinctions like that. It all does a lot to add to the immersiveness of the world.

I now also find the idea that the Watchmen show was any good harder to believe than ever.

Lanterns sucked pretty bad. Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre do everything they can to ensure the show is at least watchable for as long as possible. Unfortunately for them, the show decides to show it's entire ass in the finale, which was just bafflingly awful.

I was curious to finally make my way all the way through a Tom King story after having previously bounced off of his Supergirl comic. I am also now confident this is the last time I will bother paying any attention to anything he is attached to.
