If it happens it can only be a positive. Your copy and paste replies about ROI ignore the fact that for most sponsors that ROI comes from TV, and with all races on main network FOX the championship is routinely experiencing its highest viewership figures since the split. Adding another race to the calendar, and one in a different continent will likely add to greater interest and viewership thus helping simple TV based ROI. For teams who sell race by race sponsorship deals foreign races add additional sponsorship opportunities from local companies. Factor in also that a quarter of Indycar’s current global viewership exists in Europe and you have fertile ground on which to expand the reach of the series, the circuits it visits and the fans who can attend races. All in all, it’s a win.
