Shout to @Jen_M_Wu and Laine Feller for representing @ArcherLab at the Gram+ Pathogens meeting. Both gave excellent talks on host responses to S. aureus #skin #infections and #inflammation. #ProudPI @HopkinsMedicine #dermatology
I am excited to share that we received a Serendipity Grant from the @LEOFondet to study the role of adipocytes in #skin #inflammation. This is important, as obesity is linked to increased susceptibility of developing atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Congrats to Yu Wang @HopkinsMedicine and @IBT_inc on study to develop dry formulations of the #Saureus #vaccine IBT-V02, which were effective against strains from around the world and may have utility in countries where cold storage is scarce. 👇

Excited have Laine Feller join @ArcherLab as a new @CMM_JHU PhD graduate student in @HopkinsDerm @HopkinsMedicine. She will help us understand how S. aureus triggers skin disease pathogenesis. #inflammation #dermtwitter
Our new paper is out in @ScienceAdvances! We discovered a novel mechanism for how #neutrophils fight bacterial #infections in skin that we leveraged as a #therapy. @Uniklinikum_Wue @HopkinsMedicine @HopkinsDerm #dermtwitter #NETosis #Immunology

Excited to share a publication on our contribution to a new spine implant infection model using glowing bacteria led by @TimWithamMD at @HopkinsNsurg @HopkinsMedicine with co-authors @gordon_oren and @DavisLabJHU.

Honored to receive the Catalyst award from @HopkinsMedicine @JohnsHopkins @deniswirtz to pursue new #research on how epithelial crosstalk drives #inflammation in the atopic march. Shout-out to other awardees: @jwmodell @KateFitzg @CarrieNiemanMD @ltkagohara among others.
Congrats to @sabostars for a great talk on a new potential mechanism for the atopic march at #ISID2023Tokyo representing @HopkinsMedicine @HopkinsDerm.
Our Preview by @sabostars is out describing two exciting new articles in @cellhostmicrobe from the @JulieSegre, Kong, and Liberman labs on the skin #microbiome in atopic dermatitis #inflammation.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Christine Youn, for successfully defending her thesis work today as a CMM PhD student! We are immensely proud of all she has done and look forward to her future successes beyond Hopkins School of Medicine! @HopkinsMedicine @CMM_JHU @HopkinsDerm
Happy Lunar New Year! Celebrations begin on the first new moon of the lunisolar calendars traditional to many East Asian countries and end on the first full moon. 2023 is also the year of the rabbit and we hope it brings you all peace and prosperity!
Crisaborole does more than we previously thought. In our recent publication we find that topical treatment reduces itch and S. aureus skin colonization in preclinical models of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis skin inflammation. Read more below.

Enjoyed my time discussing our research on skin infections and inflammation at @PennSbdrc with @elizgrice and others.

Our postdoc Sabrina @sabostars gave a fantastic talk about inflammation via eosinophil-derived IL-17 responses triggered by Staphylococcus aureus proteases at the 2022 Carnegie-Hopkins Microbiology Minisymposium! Great job Sabrina!
Great science, people, and vistas at the #montagnasymposium. Enjoying a beach hike with @RobertoR3G, @WhitleyLab17, and other amazing scientists.
Please join me and @Baker_Lab_Cam as we discuss our research on combating antimicrobial resistant bacterial infections and understanding immune responses. Thank you to @PerkinElmer for hosting! Please register below:
