I've read a lot of terrific #dnd material recently from publishers large and small. After noticing a lot of common glitches, I compiled a list of tips to consider when editing D&D content. (If you ever apply to WotC and are asked to take the editorial test, pay attention!) A🧵

Inspiration and Wild Shape coins are not only a great tactile and visual reminder to have at the table but it's also more fun as a DM to give inspiration if you get to clang one these down on the table each time. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #ttrpg

Made myself a digital journal using the PDF from @ArcaneGoods and @_r_n_w_ and I think it's pretty cute!

The idea behind the OGL was that'd bolster the ttrpg industry & establish D&D as the RPG everyone plays. The hope was great 3rd party content would lead to more sales of WotC content. Now that TTRPGs are booming & D&D has a firm grasp, they rip the rug out from everybody else. 🧵

Yesterday, I received the full text of the OGL 1.1 from a reputable source. The updated Open Gaming License is incredibly restrictive, demands community surveillance and, most importantly, renders the previous WotC OGL an unauthorized agreement. gizmodo.com/dnd-wizards-of-t…

With their impending release of a virtual tabletop & acquisition of D&D Beyond, they have the opportunity to create a digital marketplace for all things D&D where they could host and take a modest cut from digital 3rd party content. (DMs Guild 2.0 essentially)

I suspect they are taking the Apple app store approach of creating a walled garden that will offer something like the above with a lower % cut & this new OGL is meant as a way to discourage creators from offering content outside of their shop but that is speculation on my end.

Absolutely love to see products like this that not only make the game more accessible but do it in a beautiful way. Thank you for advocating for those whose needs weren't being met.
