Nailed down the shape I'm happy with. Now working on getting the triangle count as low as possible. At the nearest view distance, there shouldn't be any dark areas. Right now there are dark spots all over the place.

Not finished but getting closer. Just using grunge textures and avoiding doing any painting until I look at it in VR. Once I paint, redoing UVs become a pain.

Standalone VR is dead. The future of VR is PSVR2 and PCVR that can legit compete with a PS5. The best experiences will come from modders, UEVR, flat to VR conversions, and a handful of indie studios that dare to take risks to produce quality games.
My daughter used to be mesmerized by VR when she was 5 years old. She'd play Fantasy Zone in New Retro Arcade Neon game after game. Now at 15, she doesn't touch VR. Last year at an arcade, she coined down on Mappy. Now I'm building it in VR. Maybe she'll coin down again.
If you had no money but owned a piece of rock worth 1 billion dollars, how would you try to solve world hunger with that piece of rock, knowing if you sold all of it in one shot it would lose 99% of its value?
"Audience comes last"
Gamers today will completely freak out over this statement. But if they want to play a great game, they need to step out of the way.
This has been my philosophy my entire career. I actually made music that wasn’t to dance to INTENTIONALLY.. Cause I wanted the listener to pay attention to every word.. ‘If you can’t hear what I’m saying, how can you HEAR what I’m saying… That’s how ‘I’ like it…. Hopefully, others will also. 💎 @rickrubin ‘Criminal Migraine’ coming Soon.. 💥
Most US arcade collectors will not buy this cabinet and this sit down version almost never comes up for sale, but for me its pure nostalgia. This game came out in 1986 and I remember playing this game when I visited Japan around that time.

The US upright version of this cab has three 13" CRTs. This Japanese version has 19" CRTs. It's way bigger than the 6 player Xmen cab, which is already huge. It won't fit in most people's basements.
5 years ago, I tried working on this cab by this artist named Zad. It had like 1000 different pieces and I didn't know where to start. Now I'm trying again.
He quit this platform but I still remember being inspired by his daily posts.
Time Crisis 2 in Mame works well and gameplay is great, except the shading on character faces feels really off. I'm not sure if its supposed to look like that or if its a bug, but I just like the first Time Crsis art style a lot more.
For years I had this big dark desk, and it's finally driving me mad. My Bigscreen Beyond is black. My Index controllers are black. My phone is black. My tiny headphone is black. My drawing tablet is black. I can't find ANYTHING
I'm still a little confused, but it sounds like arcade CRTs in the 80s typically can do 240 lines (Paperboy, Narc were medium rez and can do more). Pacman is 224x288. 224 barely fits within 240 so little or no scanline gaps.
