Storage is no longer a utility. It is becoming a business model.
India is hitting a 'Storage Memory' crisis. We’re creating more data than ever but still scared to delete memories.
@CounterPointTR estimates up to 100 million Indians could pay for cloud storage by 2030, up from around 10-15 million today.
India’s solution to data obesity?
AI-powered phones + bundled cloud storage + better habits, which auto-summarizes & archives.
The challenges are privacy risks, rising costs, regulatory concerns (DPDP), and the need for better tools to manage "personal model" data in the AI era.

Already seeing people claiming credit but Sun Pharma’s high voltage acquisition of Organon, the biggest M&A by an Indian company since Tata’s purchase of Corus, was an exclusive broken by Arijit and Vikas in the 19 Jan edition of ET. They got every follow up story right and correctly called the acquisition going through in last night’s edition. Months of dogged pursuit.
When it comes to Arijit’s track record in big ticket M&A, I’m reminded of what Tyson said about Ali during a heartwarming meeting of the legends: “Every head must bow, every tongue must confess, he’s the greatest of all time”.
Take a bow, comrades. @arijitbarman76 and pharma don @VikasReports
The Mythos fear has hit Indian regulators.
RBI is speaking to global central banks to understand the risks, while also seeking early access to Mythos to assess the India specific vulnerabilities.

(🧵1/11) For the past year and a half, I've been investigating OpenAI and Sam Altman for @NewYorker. With my coauthor @andrewmarantz, I reviewed never-before-disclosed internal memos, obtained 200+ pages of documents related to a close colleague, including extensive private notes, and interviewed more than 100 people.
OpenAI was founded on the premise that A.I. could be the most dangerous invention in human history—and that its C.E.O. would need to be a person of uncommon integrity. We lay out the most detailed account yet of why Altman was ousted out by board members and executives who came to believe he lacked that integrity, and ask: were they right to allege that he couldn't be trusted?

New: Tension at the Associated Press over use of AI. One of the AP newsroom leaders leading the company's AI initiatives told staff that many editors preferred an AI-written article to a human one, and told them when it comes to using AI in the newsroom "resistance is futile."
