A Administração Pública de Estradas da Noruega autorizou, na terça (14), a circulação de um ônibus totalmente autônomo em rotas regulares de transporte público sem a presença de um motorista de segurança a bordo. A operação será realizada em Stavanger, onde o veículo já vinha sendo testado em condições supervisionadas e em tráfego misto. Publicações do setor apontam que o projeto entra agora em uma nova fase, com supervisão remota em tempo real e apoio operacional a partir de um centro de controle. A iniciativa ocorre em meio à busca europeia por alternativas diante da escassez de motoristas no transporte público e faz parte de um plano de expansão gradual da tecnologia nos próximos anos.
