The next Appium 2 beta (which you should be using, since Appium 1.x is no longer supported!) will have a change to the minimum supported Node.js version. It is technically a breaking change. Details here: github.com/appium/appium/dis…

The Appium team has announced a maintenance and EOL plan for Appium 1.x. Basically, it will be bugfix-supported for 6 months following the release of Appium 2.0. Appium 2.0 has been in beta for well over a year, time to kick the tires if you haven't yet! github.com/appium/appium/blo…
