So far we have:
Sport coat: $358
Oxford shirt: $125
Casual pants: $133
Dress pants: $283
Shetland sweater: $157
Sweatshirt: $99
Pair of shoes: $205
Casual jacket: $250
That's $1610, leaving us with $90. Personally, I'd spend that on a pack of Buck Mason's MiUSA Toughknit tees.

Finished up a jury trial today. One observation—I love having appellate counsel present for the parties at trial. Makes things so much easier for the trial judge. #appellatetwitter #lawtwitter

There is no cavalry coming. No miracle solution. No saviors.
In the end, we, the American people - not any of our institutions - have to save our democracy by voting in defense of that democracy this fall.
We are the cavalry. The responsibility is ours.

Since I've been vocal on here and the news is out....
We're back. The professional officials of the PSRA are back on the field and in the VAR booth.
A huge thanks to the hundreds of officials who sat this out in solidarity - it meant the world.

“Where’s the real refs?” Chants from the @Nordecke as @PROreferees continues to lock out @PSRAofficials from MLS contests.
The replacements in Columbus (like many other places today) are struggling mightily.

I got to talk to PSRA head Peter Manikowski about the ongoing labor dispute impacting MLS refereeing:

Video Reviews (VR) through the first 43 games of the season:
2023 MLS PSRA Refs - 9⃣
2024 World Median (10 leagues, range 9-28) - 1⃣8⃣
2024 MLS Replacement Refs - 2⃣3⃣
From a VR standpoint, MLS Week 4 was the best this season for the refs.
But PSRA remains best in class.

“PRO is going to continue to sit down and negotiate with the PSRA…but if there’s no resolution to be reached, we are more than prepared to see this all the way through.”

$95,000 per team.
That's literally 25 cents per ticket sold.
A single quarter per ticket is all we want to get professional referees back on the field.
My latest for @goal: An opinionated longform look at what is happening with @MLS @PROreferees and the @PSRAofficials

Want to know how you can help support the PSRA right now?
You can find information here:

We are touched by the solidarity that fans around the league have shown us - statements, boycotts, banners, etc. We can't wait to be back and hear the raucous crowds again. But as long as we are locked out by MLS/PRO, we will be standing up for our rights.

The additional contract adjustments we are asking for?
Approximately $100K per team.
Think about that. That's less than 1/10th of the ticket sales for one home game. That's what is keeping us off of the field to start this season.

To be crystal clear here with the folks on soccer twitter - this is who #MLS and #PRO locked out today. Not some mysterious group of yellow shirts. But rather, the dedicated professionals that serve this game we all love. You'll see more and more of this over the coming weeks.
Step into the world of soccer officiating -- where passion runs deep and every moment on the field is lived to the fullest. From the personal commitment to the physical demands and mental focus, experience the game through the eyes of a referee. #RefereeLife #BehindTheWhistle

The solidarity and support we're receiving from so many in #MLS is truly amazing. Not only in Dallas and NYC today at our pickets, but all around the league. We thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing everyone in the stadiums soon.

Statement from the Bucket Hat Brigade in regards to the lockout of the @PSRAofficials by @PROreferees.

#SolidaritywithPSRA #Boycott #DontCrossPicketLines #NoScabReferees
ALT White writing on a black background. As staunch supporters of fair play and respect for referees in Major League Soccer (MLS), we, the Bucket Hat Brigade, hereby declare our unwavering solidarity with the Professional Soccer Referees Association (PSRA). In light of the ongoing contract dispute between PSRA and MLS, we stand firmly behind the referees’ demands for fair compensation and working conditions. Therefore, until a new contract is signed between PSRA and MLS that addresses the referees’ legitimate concerns, we will be boycotting all home matches, effective immediately. We refuse to cross the picket line and will not attend or support any events hosted by MLS until this matter is resolved satisfactorily.
ALT White writing on a black background. We call upon all fans, supporters, and stakeholders of soccer in our community to join us in this boycott. Together, let us send a powerful message that without the dedication and professionalism of referees, the integrity of the game we love is compromised. Let us stand united in support of the PSRA referees and demand a fair and just resolution to this dispute. Signed, The Bucket Hat Brigade
