Almost Two years ago, myself and our team at @reedapt set out to build one of the most ambitious projects to come out of Africa and the world. A universal translator that could enable anyone to speak any language without having to learn them like in Star Trek but for our Pastor, so he can preach in multiple languages and countries simultaneously.
The problem with existing video translation tools is that they're not built for the African Context; speaking in tongues, code switching, incantations, accents, all of these stand in the way of western built models being able to accurately translate what has been said into another language because they just cannot comprehend what has been said.
Dreams are fine until you realize how much resources you need to power them. Our journey started great at first, we had some support but then lost it, it was like we were stranded in the ocean in a wooden boat without food and water. No AWS credits, no experience, no investor, no money.
Since then we have seen the mighty hand of God in our team. Everything we've needed to embark on this mission has been provided, we've been tested - severally, we almost gave up a few months ago because building the first step to reaching the goal of contextually accurate real-time interpretation is incredibly difficult when you're the underdog.
But today I'm glad to announce that Reedapt Dubbing is live, free and currently in deployment with churches all over the world to aid in the circulation of the gospel.
This is only the first step to reaching our goal of real-time contextually accurate translation.

After 5 years of building @AltSchoolAfrica with @AdewaleYusuf_ and @opeawo, today I’m officially stepping down as CTO and moving into the CEO role.

Given your inspiring keynote speech at this year's Deep Learning Indaba, where you charged African startups with the task of building sovereign AI, it is my pleasure to share that StripppleCare, my indigenous healthtech startup, secured 1st place at DeepLearning Indaba's (@DeepIndaba) maiden pitch competition in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (@ITU).
This earned us an invitation to Geneva: admission into the Innovation Factory Accelerator, a startup exhibition booth, and the opportunity to pitch at the annual AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland, in June 2027.
We are building sovereign digital verification rails for healthcare financing on the continent, incorporating NIPOST’s Digital Postcode framework for immutable proof-of-presence, unlocking critical liquidity for healthcare providers. We are taking homegrown Nigerian ingenuity straight to the United Nations 🇳🇬🇺🇳.
However, as an early-stage startup, financing travel and accommodation to Geneva for 4-5 days has proven to be an uphill task for our young team.
Given Nigeria's prominent seat at the ITU and our national commitment to showcasing indigenous innovation on global stages, I humbly approach you and the Ministry to request travel and accommodation support to enable me to represent our work in Switzerland.
