Are you ready for movie night with your favorite cousins?! Harlem’s own #MelaninMadness returns to The Apollo Stages at The Victoria for another immersive screening of #VampireInBrooklyn on 10/29.
We had too much fun the first time, so this October we’re taking it up a notch with more ways to get in on the MADNESS. Come dressed to impress & participate in a costume contest for some spooky prizes, catch the film, & keep the Halloween fun going long after the credits roll.
With music by DJ Steph Cakes. After-party tickets available. apollotheater.org/event/mela…
One thing about #CorinaKattAyala? She’s going to bring a dance record that gets us moving! We’re closing out #HispanicHeritageMonth by taking it back to 1991 with a performance of her hit song “Temptation,” a chart-topping freestyle classic that still gets the party started. 🎶
+ In celebration of what would have been Miles Davis’s 100th birthday, @JuilliardSchool and #TheApollo bring middle and high school students a special School Day Live: Juilliard at The Apollo on Thursday, November 19, right here at The Apollo Stages at The Victoria!
Before the show had a name, before the world knew what #ShowtimeAtTheApollo would become, #FreddieJackson was here.
He would return to our stage time and again, performing, guest hosting, and bringing his signature songs to audiences in Harlem and NYC. From “You Are My Lady” to “Rock Me Tonight,” Jackson’s smooth, powerful vocals helped define the golden era of contemporary R&B.
His connection to our stage is only part of the story. As one of R&B’s defining voices, Freddie Jackson has given us timeless love songs and a catalog that helped shape the sound of contemporary soul. Today we honor his legacy and the soundtrack of a generation. #RestInPower.
This #MarqueeMonday the message is clear: Support women. Support Black Women. Drop a 🖤 if you agree down below in the comments.
We proudly closed out September by joining the @aadpinc as Grand Marshal and the inaugural recipient of the AADP Community Institution Award, a powerful recognition of our enduring role as a cultural beacon and treasured institution rooted in Harlem‼️
From Saturday’s Community Literacy, Health & Culture Festival to Sunday’s parade, our Apollo fam showed up in full force: Charlene Smith brought Groove Theory to the festival, Amateur Night alum Cruz Angel kicked off the pre-show, & DJ SLID3 kept our float moving to the beat.
Kick off your #Halloween with your new spooky-season tradition! Harlem’s own #MelaninMadness returns to The Apollo Stages @ The Victoria for another spook-tacular immersive screening of the timeless classic #VampireInBrooklyn. It was so good the first time, we had to run it back.
This time, with even more opportunities to join the fun! 🧛🏾 After party tickets available. apollotheater.org/event/mela…
This #HispanicHeritageMonth, we’re celebrating the Latino artists who have stepped into the spotlight on our stage, adding their voices and stories to the rich cultural history of 125th Street.
