Last round of the Edison local I asked the only other undefeated if we could split so I could bid on an auction for a dragon ball card ending in 15 min. He told me no we had to play bc he wanted to win the tournament 2-0’d him in 10 min to win the local then won the auction lol

This movie nailed the tonal balance between camp and reverence to the lore. The animated sequences were a perfect vehicle for the grittier moments, but I do think Ryu and Ken's relationship was perfectly portrayed in the live action, too.
