You cannot treat “Somali British” as recognition and “British British” as racism unless you have already decided that the host culture is the one identity that must stay empty.
That is the fallacy (lie) being inserted into the statement.
If you object to the term “British British,” then you must say why “Somali British” is not the same offence.
Either:
prefixes name peoples, in which case British is allowed to name one too;
or
prefixes divide the nation, in which case you drop both compounds and say “British,” with origin only as a fact when it matters;
or
only some peoples may have an essence, in which case the objection is not to the reduplication. It is to symmetry.

These people happily ignore suffering in Sudan, Yemen, Myanmar, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, Haiti, Somalia, Nigeria, Syria, Afghanistan and the Lebanon. Tens may be a hundred million or more ... compared to less than 2 million in Gaza. This is not to justify the suffering in Gaza but it is to ask why they alone seem to be worth protesting for???

Around 560 arrests at this year’s Notting Hill carnival. Weapons seized, sex crimes recorded, two knife attacks, widespread illegal drug possession, and a police chase which ended with a man dying in a canal.
Yet the Metropolitan Police said in a statement that the carnival passed “largely without incident” and described the atmosphere as “overwhelmingly positive and celebratory".
Pyongyang levels of propaganda going on here. If this had been any other event - say a football match or patriotic rally or anti-war demo - we wouldn’t have heard the last of it. The establishment would have denounced such a crime-fest full-throatedly and demanded sanctions against the organisers.

Neither I nor any of the other black men of accomplishment that I know have been subjected to "racial surveillance" and the reason is simple.
