Faizon Brandon re-entered the game but seemed very hesitant to throw the rest of the first half. A couple deep throws in the second half that were accurate makes me think he’s not exactly limited at this point (thankfully)
Faizon Brandon tackled hard to the ground lands on his right shoulder. Out of the game right now, walked off with his arm supported. Concerned for AC joint pathology which would limit his ability to throw, especially deep, the rest of the game if he’s able to return. #RockyTop

I do believe that Kewan Lacy’s injury is directly related to his offseason labral repair (I don’t think he would’ve got injured on this play if he did not have surgery). Whether there are additional ligaments involved or not, I expect his usage to be modified the next 2-3 weeks with limits on snaps + touches to avoid repetitive heavy contact to that left arm
NEW: Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy has been downgraded to doubtful for Saturday's matchup at Florida on the SEC injury report. on3.com/news/kewan-lacy-down…

This is where MSU RB Cam Edwards got hurt versus Notre Dame. His left ankle gets stuck under him as his body weight continues to the right, forcing his left knee into valgus in a closed kinetic chain. Mechanism indicates MCL involvement. I do not think there’s enough rotational torque for the ACL to be involved (obviously good news). Given that there is no external contact forcefully pushing the knee inwards, the likelihood is that this is a mild or moderate grade I-II sprain. This would indicated that Edward’s return to play timeframe is statistically somewhere between 1-4 weeks. Relatively positive to see him walking off the field (with some assistance) after this play #Spartans #MichiganState

LSU TE Trey’Dez Green did not suffer any torn ligaments Saturday and no surgery is required, according to his mother 🙏

Kewan Lacy is headed towards the locker room after heavy contact to same shoulder that he had surgery on this offseason….not a good look for the Rebels
Lacy confirmed he injured his (left) shoulder during Ole Miss’ CFP game vs Tulane and that he had surgery for his labrum this past spring. He’s already participating in fall camp and appears on track for Week 1. Production for an RB would likely not be largely impacted upon return, as the larger question would be how well does the shoulder tolerate repeated contact throughout the year

Lofton is in the game in the 2nd half and although he has yet to be involved, he appears to be okay thankfully
Just before the half, Miami TE Elija Lofton gets piled up on while blocking. His left leg was planted when he got landed on so while there is hope he can shake it off and continue, there’s also some concern for potential MCL or meniscus involvement given the mechanism

Not surprised by this at all, I do think he returns Week 3 but expect him to be moderately limited with rushing and scrambling for another 2-3 weeks after return
Sources: Baylor’s Nate Bennett will make his first career start for the Bears this weekend, as DJ Lagway (ankle) is not expected to play against Prairie View A&M. Lagway was injured against Auburn and isn’t expected to be out long-term. It’s uncertain if he’ll dress and be available.

BYU RB Sione Moa is out with a torn MCL and PCL, he reveals on Instagram. That’s a brutally upsetting loss to the Cougars depth after the RB came back from compartment syndrome of the thigh last year to be healthy by the season opener. Time table for return TBD.

Also doesn’t look like Kewan Lacy is returning any time soon for Ole Miss. He was sitting on the bench with heat on his left quads and missed the last possession for the Rebels.

He is having a field day out there, unfortunately pulls up at the end of this play with what looks to be his left hamstring. We’ll see how that impacts Tre Richardson in this last quarter #Louisville #OleMiss

Weight bearing through a dorsiflexed ankle causes the talus to wedge upwards into the ankle mortise, forcing the tibia and fibula apart and stressing the syndesmosis. That’s why pushing off, acceleration, and sudden changes of direction can be so painful. His mobility rest of game is obviously a major concern because of this. Lagway’s OL is going to need to buy him time to deliver from the pocket the rest of this game in order to stay effective. They did just that to score their 1st TD of the game

The idea with all that tape (and how effective it is or isn’t is a separate discussion) is to squeeze the tibia and fibula together to minimize the stress when this happens…DJ Lagway was just carried off by his teammates at halftime to stay off that ankle

Lagway’s full body weight lands on his right ankle while it is forced into max dorsiflexion and there is a slight rotational component as the rest of his body follows him to the ground. That axial load is exactly how we see a lot of syndesmotic (high ankle) injuries occur

Penn State cornerback Zion Tracy has a splint on his left hand. he's getting the second defensive series in the slot. safety Jeremiah Cooper, the lauded Iowa State transfer, is in the game, too.
