Officer and sergeant terminated by chief. The officer sits in court after their actions to hear his fate from a jury.
If bystanders stuck in traffic hadn’t pulled out their cellphones, this entire encounter would have been swept under the rug as "just another routine arrest."
Gwinnett County, Georgia, 21-year-old Demetrius Hollins was pulled over during a traffic stop by Sergeant Michael Bongiovanni. As Hollins stepped out of the vehicle with his hands raised, Bongiovanni struck him, deployed his taser, f0rced him face-down onto the pavement, and placed him in handcuffs.
Seconds later, Officer Robert McDonald arrived as backup. With his firearm already drawn, McDonald ran up, gripped the frame of the open car door to balance himself, and delivered a running str!ke directly into Hollins’ while the man lay handcuffed, prone, and completely compliant.
McDonald then held him down with his knee onto him and pointed his firearm at him.
Because the officers did not have body-worn cameras at the time, the department's initial narrative relied entirely on the officers' own incident reports.
However, commuter cellphone footage quickly surfaced, triggering swift investigation. Within 24 hours, the police chief publicly stated that Hollins was handcuffed, non-resisting, and posed zero threat, terminating both officers immediately.
Internal records revealed Bongiovanni had 67 previous use-of-force incidents across his 19-year career, cleared by internal affairs every single time. Facing prosecution, Bongiovanni took a plea deal, pleading no contest to aggravated assault and battery under Georgia’s First Offender Act. He received probation and no prison time in exchange for testifying against McDonald.
McDonald took his case to a jury, attempting a defense that quickly unraveled. On the witness stand, McDonald claimed he never intended to str!ke Hollins in the he@d, arguing he merely tried to "push" Hollins’ shoulder flat to the ground with his boot.
Prosecutors had McDonald step down to demonstrate the kicking motion in front of the jury, juxtaposing his high knee lift and force against slow-motion video showing Hollins jarring off the p@vement.
The jury rejected the excuse, convicting McDonald on all three counts:
• Aggravated Assault
• Violation of Oath of Office
• Battery
Despite being led out in handcuffs following the verdict, McDonald was sentenced to 10 years of probation with the first 11 months on house arrest, serving no prison time.
Gwinnett County settled a federal civil rights lawsuit filed by Hollins for $400,000. Once again the actions of two officers being covered by the citizens of the county.
Was justice served on this one or do we once again see the two tier justice system in action?

Mehdi Hasan Confronts Nancy Mace Over Her Anti-Muslim Remarks — “Do You Stand With Muslim American Women?”
Nancy Mace: I’m terrified of radical Islam. I’ve seen what they’ve done in foreign countries when a woman shows her hair being stoned to death, being put to death. That’s not the kind of ideology I want to see grow in the United States.

We’re seeing animal sacrifice approved by a local city council in Michigan, and people screaming “Death to America” on American streets. That kind of thing is growing, and we’ve got to put a stop to it.

She’s attacked Muslims in general and claimed no Muslim American should hold public office because they’re all “Trojan horses.”
Dr. Oz is a Muslim. He’s part of Trump’s administration. Is he a Trojan horse?
She has also claimed that all terrorists are Muslims. That’s obviously not true.
And when a woman in Texas confronted two Muslim-American women shopping and told them to leave the country, Nancy Mace tweeted, “I stand with Dasha.”
Mehdi Hasan: So why are you asking two Muslim-American women to leave the country?
Nancy Mace: I am not! And you have a monopoly on hypocrisy. Are you going to let the woman speak?
Mehdi Hasan: Before you attack me, deal with what I just said. You said, “I stand with Dasha.” Do you stand with Dasha? Do you stand with Muslim-American women?
Nancy Mace: I’m not racist. I’m American, and I’m America First.

And Dasha isn’t the only Christian woman who’s been interrupted or accosted by Muslim women. Fifteen years ago, I was nursing an infant in a grocery store in Atlanta, minding my own business, when two Muslim women came up to me and asked me to leave.
This has been going on for over a decade, and it’s only getting worse.

You are supporting, funding, and aiding genocide in Gaza that has resulted in approximately 22,000 children murdered, thousands of children with amputations, and over 70,000 orphans. And your so called Board of “Peace” has done nothing to stop war and is planning to oversee the very profitable reconstruction and take over of Gaza. One can only guess who all will get those blood money contracts, the Epstein class and associates.
And let’s talk about the basics that every single US president is supposed to guarantee to its citizens. Affordable cost of living and affordable fuel in which you have 100% failed to deliver and actually driven inflation and irresponsibly driven the cost of gasoline and diesel to record high levels.
