Ever wonder why Malaysia’s national debt suddenly jumped to over RM1 TRILLION a few years ago?
Here’s the plain truth about how Najib’s era set that trap, explained simply:
1/ Imagine your parents set a strict rule: you cannot borrow more than RM550 on your credit card. That is your legal limit (the 55% debt-to-GDP cap).
If you swipe RM600, everyone sees you broke the rules.
2/ So what did the government do instead? They used off-budget debt ie basically a massive financial loophole.
Here is how the game worked:
a/ The "Ghost" Companies (SPVs)
Instead of the government borrowing money directly, they set up separate government-owned companies (like DanaInfra or Prasarana) to take out massive loans for mega-projects. On the official books, the government looked clean and stayed safely under the legal limit.
b/ The Co-Signer Trick (Government Guarantees)
Banks won't lend billions to an empty shell company without proof. So, the Treasury quietly signed "Government Guarantees." Think of it like your dad co-signing your car loan. If the company couldn't pay, guess who legally HAD to pay every single cent?
The taxpayer.
These guarantees skyrocketed from RM69 billion to nearly RM240 billion under Najib.
c/ The Rental Trap (PFI & PPPs)
Instead of paying upfront to build things like police stations or universities, the government got private companies to build them, then signed 20- to 30-year "lease" contracts worth over RM200 billion. It didn't count as official debt on paper, but it’s a locked-in bill future generations must pay every month, no matter what.
d/ The 1MDB Disconnect
Normally, when a country borrows money for a highway or a train, the train actually exists and helps the economy grow. With 1MDB, billions were borrowed with government backing, but the cash was drained into offshore shell accounts, yachts, and luxury real estate. Zero economic return, but taxpayers are still paying back the loan principal and interest today.
When the curtain was pulled back in 2018, the official debt wasn't just RM687 billion.
Once you added the off-budget guarantees and the hidden long-term lease bills, the real bill handed to the next generation was RM1.08 TRILLION.
e/ Official limits look neat on paper. But off-budget debt meant the country was maxing out secret credit cards in our name all along and our generation is the one stuck paying the monthly installments.
Question:Are you sure you want Ministers who served under Najib & those equally responsible for the hidden debts to be in our post GE16 Cabinet?

To the ones who suggested satellite monitoring: you're still missing the point here.
We can pinpoint wherever we want based on what we see on the map, but if Indonesia still doesn't act on it, then the result is the same.
2. penguatkuasaan Indonesia sendiri sangat lemah (chronically weak)
3. bukti pemilikan ladang penghalang paling besar

the fact that GP asked for permission before signing a contract w McLaren says a lot abt their relationship as a race engineer & driver. It’s more than that and that is why it makes me really sad to think that this might be their last podium tgt 🥺
