First Impressions on Wolverine, and unfortunately I am extremely disappointed. The combat lacks impact. I was really surprised at how lacking it feels, but it does get a bit better once you unlock skills. However, the zero-skills combat is frankly awful and not fun in the intro. Stealth is so basic that I am going out of my way to get detected because it has absolutely nothing going for it, there’s no tools, no gadgets, nothing. Also, the story has entirely failed to hook me so far. The intro drops you in the middle of things without explaining any context, and it’s not explained later. I had to read the glossary description to even get what’s going on and what this Wolverine’s story even is. The visuals do look amazing at least and it runs perfectly. More than anything, I am just so let down that the game isn’t very fun. It holds your hand throughout everything with ludicrous levels of guidance, which wasn’t exaggerated, and the combat not hitting is just resulting in a game that I am struggling to enjoy. I’ll continue the game on stream tonight, but so far… It’s mediocre, unfortunately.
