There was a mass overdose event in Commons Park on Sunday afternoon (10/4). Witnesses report that at least one of the overdoses did not survive.
Bet you didn’t hear about this on the news.
Fentanyl is destroying lives and our community because “small” quantities have been defelonized. With minimal consequences, we have no way to get people into treatment.

I looked it’s to this deal that the Mayor Mike Johnston insisted must happen even though the City Council was very hesitant:
101 W. Colfax, about 306,000 square feet.
• 2005–06: Built for about $84 million as the Denver Newspaper Agency building. The Post and the Rocky Mountain News both moved in. Neither paper owned it.
• 2006: Sold for $93.4 mill
• Spring 2023: Appraised at $84 million. Assessor actual value about $82.8 million.
• January 2024: City buys it for $88.5 million, about $290 a square foot. Plan was courts. Deal assumed the Post master lease ran to 2029 at $650,000 a month.
• August 2025: Post stops paying rent. More than $2 million behind by October.
• June 2026: Settlement. Post pays $13.5 million to walk, against about $34.5 million still owed through 2029. Sign comes down June 23–24.
• September 2026: Alterra lease, 64,654 square feet, 12 years, $22 a square foot stepping up 50 cents a year, first year free. City books $15.7 million over the term. Tenant-improvement credit $150 a square foot. About $11 million in state and city incentives on top.
City cost: $88.5 million, plus a lease it had counted on and did not get. Private sale comps now: about $12–16 million.
The net of it is the city has lost $80M on this deal that bailed out the Denver Post and NYC hedge funds. It’s gross incompetence at the least……#copolitics #colorado

The Baby is perfectly healthy and doing great.
My Wife however had a really bad reaction during labor and her blood pressure rapidly dropped and showed signs of a stroke. It was very scary and emotional for several hours. When she was coherent enough to speak, she didn’t think she was going to make it.. and the only thing she could think about was her boys… telling me to take care of them and to tell them she loved them. Like I said, it was Very emotional… I was a mess.. I couldn’t imagine her not being here anymore..
Despite everything she went through, I don’t know how she did it, but she did, she still gave birth. After several hours, and sleep, she was doing much better.
I know God pulled her through it and I am so thankful for all your prayers. So so thankful. They worked.
I took off work for several weeks to help her out as she’s still dealing with some issues. I will also be taking a week or so off from my social media work to focus on her and the baby.
I’ll peek my head in to say hi here and there, may share some photos… But I will definitely be back within a week or so to help focus on the midterms. I just need to focus on my family right now.
