All eyes on Cooper here. Calling Kirkup a liar is unthinkable as that simply will not land with a boss whose entire purpose is built on learning from Hillsborough.
.@BBCMBuchanan @vsmacdonald @eleanorhayward Reactions from families? Cooper? And what does Amos have to say about all of this?

The utter absurdity of the Sally Rooney affair spectator.com/article/the-ut… An excellent piece @questingvole - measured, witty and reasonable. I agree 100% with all his points. Wonder whether he, too, will get massively trolled on X for making them.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is an MP in Somalia THIS WEEK defending the mutilation of little girls because it benefits men. I am running out of words for the sheer inhumanity of these men. And the female politician laughing behind him should be ashamed. But that would require a conscience. Around 99% of Somali women and girls have undergone #FGM, yet politicians openly defend this horrific abuse. And what do we do? Keep pouring billions into Somalia while pretending it is building a functioning state. Why are British taxpayers funding institutions whose politicians show such contempt for little girls? Not another penny without accountability. I am sick of this madness.

The welfare concerns raised must be taken seriously, but so must the public interest in reporting serious allegations. Being a high-profile individual should not provide additional protection from scrutiny. Any decision about anonymity must be based on clear legal principles, fairness and the public interest - never on status or influence. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c674…

I find this incredibly frustrating. When a well-known, influential man seeks to prevent serious allegations from being reported, it raises uncomfortable questions about power, privilege and accountability. Of course welfare concerns must be taken seriously, but so must open justice and press freedom. Power and status must never become a shield from public scrutiny.

Just 32 of 361 PCNs have been paid! What is the point of the multi agency task force? @Royal_Greenwich @MrJayDele
Meanwhile, here in Greenwich we have diesel ice cream vans pumping out poison on our streets for hours! There’s a ban, tickets handed out, but when they make ££££ every hour, they can afford to pay up. They need to be removed! ! @Royal_Greenwich @MrOkereke

On average men were diagnosed in 3 months. Women in 2 years. Women's auto-immune diseases aren't trickier. But doctors afford women less epistemological authority. Women are simply considered less trustworthy, even, especially, about themselves. theguardian.com/society/2026…

Women are expected to prevent male violence, anticipate male violence, survive male violence, explain male violence, and then comfort men about male violence.

CNN: between mid-2020 and mid-2024 Cornell had 51 formal complaints of sexual assault, and just 2 of the 16 students found guilty were expelled. Nearly half of Cornell students found responsible for sexual assault were punished with extra study programs and written reprimands. CNN spoke to one student who has come forward now in the wake of Jane Doe to let people know this was not an isolated incident in the way the university handled it. Her rapist was found guilty in the process, and he was given an assignment to write an essay! I have been reserving judgment, but I really believe, as an involved alumni, it is time for president Kotlikoff to resign. This is completely unacceptable! You have a responsibility, by the law, to keep students safe. You are not keeping your women students safe when a punishment is a homework assignment!
