🚨 ARE WE REALLY LIVING IN A DEMOCRACY? 🇮🇳
You have my Aadhaar. You have my PAN card. You have my tax records, property records, vehicle details, electricity bills, gas connection, fingerprints and even my iris scan!
YET, YOU WANT ME TO PROVE THAT I WAS ON THE 2002 VOTER LIST TO EXERCISE MY RIGHT TO VOTE?
When the government needs something from us, it knows exactly where to find us. But when citizens need their names on the electoral roll, suddenly, years of records and documents are not enough!
Why should an ordinary citizen bear the burden of proving their existence when the government already holds so much information?
Why should genuine voters be made to run from pillar to post? And what happens to those who cannot produce decades-old records?
OUR VOTE IS NOT A FAVOUR FROM THE GOVERNMENT. IT IS OUR DEMOCRATIC RIGHT!
We pay taxes. We fulfil our responsibilities. We follow the rules. Yet, when it comes to exercising our most fundamental democratic right, we are left struggling to prove ourselves.
And what about accountability?
We place highly qualified people in positions of immense power. But no degree, no designation, and no prestigious institution should place anyone above public scrutiny.
IIT OR IAS — NO ONE IS ABOVE ACCOUNTABILITY.
A democracy is not measured by how powerful its institutions are, but by how fairly they treat their citizens.
If the electoral rolls need correction, correct them transparently. If verification is necessary, make it fair, accessible and accountable. Do not let genuine citizens lose their voice because of missing historical records or an inaccessible process.
🗳️ NO VOTE, NO VOICE. NO ACCOUNTABILITY, NO DEMOCRACY.
📢 Raise your voice. Share the demand for accountability. Write to your Members of Parliament and demand a transparent, fair and citizen-friendly electoral verification process.
YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE. DON'T LET IT BE SILENCED! 🇮🇳

🚨 PUNE IS HEATING UP. AND WE ARE CONCRETING AWAY OUR FUTURE!
📍 Aundh-Baner Ward Office | 8 October 2026
Nearly 49°C land surface temperature. 63% of Pune covered in concrete. Only 6% tree cover remaining — these are the alarming figures raised during the conversation with the Road Department.
Pune is getting hotter. Our water needs are rising. And we are destroying the very trees that help us survive.
Think about it. More concrete means more heat. More heat means greater dependence on ACs, more water consumption and greater pressure on our already stressed water resources.
Pune received substantial rainfall, yet we are still facing water cuts. So why are we continuing to destroy green cover, increase concretisation and ignore the long-termoʻ consequences?
🌳 Trees are not decoration. They are our natural cooling system.
💧 Trees help protect our water cycle and soil.
🔥 Concrete traps heat. Trees help cool our surroundings.
🌍 Without green cover, what kind of future are we building?
Who will take responsibility when Pune becomes too hot to live in and water becomes even scarcer?
This is not just about the Builder Lobby, the Road Department or government projects. It is about a development model that puts concrete before climate, and projects before people.
Pune needs development, YES. But not at the cost of its trees, its water and its future.
ENOUGH CONCRETE. ENOUGH TREE LOSS. PUNE NEEDS A CLIMATE ACTION PLAN — NOW!
📢 Citizens must question every project that destroys our green cover. Because once a mature tree is gone, a sapling cannot replace its ecological value overnight.
🌳 SAVE TREES. SAVE WATER. SAVE PUNE.

🚨 CAN CHIEF ELECTION COMMISSIONER GYANESH KUMAR BE REMOVED? WHAT DOES THE CONSTITUTION SAY?
Students are protesting on the streets. Some are facing lathi charges, while others are being detained or sent to jail.
But here is the big question: Can the Prime Minister simply remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar? NO!
The Chief Election Commissioner holds a powerful constitutional position. Neither the Prime Minister nor the Supreme Court can simply remove him at will. His removal must follow the constitutional process.
Under Article 324(5), read with Article 124(4), the CEC can be removed through a process similar to that applicable to a Supreme Court judge.
A removal motion must be passed by the required special majority in both Houses of Parliament and follow the prescribed procedure.
So, what can citizens do?

The biggest problem with the Election Commission today is not about one individual—it is about the system itself.
Under the SIR exercise, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) are supposed to play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of electoral rolls. But there are serious concerns about how voter registration and electoral data are being increasingly centralised and digitised.
The question we should be asking is: Who controls the voter data, who has the power to add or remove names, and who is accountable for these decisions?
If legitimate voters have been excluded from the electoral rolls, the priority must be to restore every eligible voter’s name and ensure complete transparency in the process.
Demanding the resignation of one officer will not solve a systemic problem. One person may leave and another may replace them—but the system remains the same.
The demand should be for transparency, accountability, an independent audit of the voter rolls, and restoration of every legitimate voter.
Because democracy is not protected by protecting individuals in power.
Democracy is protected by protecting the voter and the sanctity of the electoral roll.

The plan is to make penthouse flats for Shri @Dev_Fadnavis Shri @ChDadaPatil and Shri @mohol_murlidhar etc… is it not ?
Once they become वय वृद्ध they’ll need a nice green corner to themselves in Pune city. So, That’s what’s going on…
Otherwise; Can anyone explain how in 5 minutes the GB unanimously passed the proposal, to give this Gravity guy Mihir Kulkarni 3735.38 square metres to build a vruddhashram on land which is technically an amenity space, in which the FSI has already been used up as TDR.
Yes.
The total land potential had already been utilised. Why then is anything else allowed to be constructed on land which should remain a garden or open space or neighbourhood lung for kids to play on.
Never mind the road which is wholly illegal and looks like it was added to the DP as an after thought.
All this on a plot which has a canal (water body) flowing through it and a ancient well in which it’s rumoured Mastani used to bathe while living in exile away from Shaniwarwada:
Maybe the Municipal Commisioner Shri N K Ram, who treats Pune like his ancestral property, “baap ki jagir” has some answers.
@SVYadwadkar perhaps you know more than I do - In case you do tell us more.
467 trees to be cut in Prabhag 29 (Karvenagar- Erandwane) - residents up in arms!
A plot of land at the end of the lane off Karishma Society road ( the lane with Siddharth Towers) is an urban mini forest withe 100s of trees, some of which are heritage trees. An old well from the Peshwa era is also found here.
Apparently, a DP road is planned through this forest - on one side a HUGE mall by Gravity Constructions is coming up. On the other side 2 acres has been reserved in the DP for a 'vruddhashram' - this too is a mini forest, with 100s of trees.
On 17th September residents heard the sound of trees being sawed, and by the time they went to the site, already 40 - 50 trees were cut, including two trees that are more than 50 years old.
They were told that PMC Road dept was cutting trees to build the DP road. However, further questioning, meetings with the ward officer Mrs Tambe and examination of the tree docket, raised many red flags.
A few residents wrote to the Ministry of Environment directly and quite surprisingly an immediate email was send by the Minister to PMC and the collector to stop the cutting till all proper permissions were granted. However the cutting went on secretly even after that, continuing well into the night which is illegal, till angry residents stopped the work. Unfortunately another 20 or 30 trees were cut by then
A meeting was held with all 4 local nagarsevaks and two meetings were held on site with MLA Dr Medhatai Kulkarni.
The questions raised by citizens are
1. The docket shows that the tree cutting permissions were given in 2023, after which there were repeated extensions. This is illegal. Under the MH Tree Act, the validity of permission for tree cutting is 3 months, which in this case expired long back. Such extensions are not legal - new permissions have to be granted after a new hearing (incidentally there were no public hearings in 2023 either)
2. The plot with the mini forest was suddenly barricaded before the cutting - and the barricades do not belong to PMC, which certainly can't afford such swanky barricades. Who barricaded this forest?
And why are security guards from the neighboring under-construction mall sitting here guarding the space?
It is a public space after all.
3. The 200 odd trees in the reserved amenity space for 'vruddhashram' have also been marked and numbered - but neither the PMC, nor the nagarsevaks can explain why they're numbered or who has done it, even though this too is public land.
4. The trees in this forest are of good native species like Chandan, Kala Shirish, Pandhra Shirish, Putravati and others - some had nests on them when they were cut (which is illegal under the Tree Act). What has PMC done with the wood? Chandan wood for eg is very valuable
5. Why did the tree cutting go on even after the MoE ordered a stay? Why did it go on after 6 pm, which is illegal. Floodlights have been attached to a large tree as proof that tree cutting went on at night. Why this secrecy and urgency.
Again, neither PMC nor the nagarsevaks nor the ward officer have any answers
As far as I know, there doesn't seem to be any real purpose for this DP road - all surrounding areas are already connected by broad roads and there is no heavy traffic in this residential area to warrant a connecting road. The only purpose for this road that one can guess, is that it will provide a back access to the Gravity Construction mall.
The vrudhashram plot also needs some investigations - will the trees here be cut too? Where are the permissions? PMC certainly isn't building an old age home here - so who exactly has this public plot been given / sold to and what will come up here?
This is a beautiful urban mini forest with precious native species trees - instead of destroying it for some useless access road, both this and the vruddhashram amenity space should be converted into a biodiversity park with walking tracks. @Medha_kulkarni @mohol_murlidhar @ChDadaPatil
🌳 You cut forests. Then you cry about drought.
We destroy lakhs of acres of forest, cut millions of trees, destroy natural water systems—and then declare areas drought-hit and spend crores transporting water.
But here’s the irony: trees are nature’s free rainwater-harvesting system. 🌧️🌳
They hold rain, help recharge groundwater, cool our surroundings and keep the ecosystem alive.
Cut the trees today, and tomorrow you will pay for water.
Water tankers can bring water.
They cannot bring back a forest.
Stop treating trees as obstacles.
They are our water security. Our climate protection. Our future.

🚨 ROADS CAN WAIT. BUT CAN WATER, FOOD & AIR WAIT?
We keep hearing the word “Development.”
More highways. More roads. More construction.
But let’s ask one uncomfortable question:
If there is no water… what will we drink?
If there are no trees… what will we breathe?
If our soil is destroyed… what will we grow?
And if there is no food on our plate… WHAT WILL WE DO WITH YOUR ROADS?
🌳 Will we eat the roads?
This is not about being against development.
This is about asking what kind of development we are choosing.
Every tree we destroy has a cost.
Every forest we lose has a consequence.
Every water source we damage eventually comes back to us.
Roads can be built tomorrow.
Concrete can wait.
Projects can be redesigned.
But once a forest is gone, once a water source is destroyed, once fertile land is lost — bringing it back is not so easy.
Development should make our lives better, not make survival harder.
We need roads.
We need infrastructure.
But first, we need water, clean air, fertile soil and food.
Because ultimately, the question is very simple:
WHAT IS THE USE OF A ₹1 LAKH CRORE ROAD IF THERE IS NO WATER TO DRINK AND NO FOOD TO EAT?
Think about it.
Question it.
Share it.
Because this isn't just about trees.
This is about our future. 🌳💧🌾

Is devotion really about playing loud music and dancing to Bollywood songs?
When Bapatji said something, you were angry because he was called an “atheist.” What are you All?
But today, when Bollywood songs, loud music and vulgar lyrics are played in Bappa’s name, where has that anger gone?
Just pause and ask yourself:
Are we truly celebrating Bappa, or simply using Bappa’s name to celebrate ourselves?
Perhaps Bappa needs less noise and more devotion, discipline and self-reflection.
Celebrate Bappa… but celebrate with thought and sincerity. 🙏

Today’s NGT order is a clear message for the entire Maharashtra: silence zones must be strictly protected, and violations cannot be allowed.
The Police Commissioner and the authorities must implement the court order—not reinterpret it, dilute it, or entertain false representations.
If the order permits only two loudspeakers, why are six or eight being allowed? The responsibility to enforce the order lies with the authorities.
Court orders are binding—not optional. If implementation fails, the next step is public debate, awareness and democratic protest.
No political pressure. No invented rules. Strict implementation of the law.
